I think the cottage is great option as you can always sell.
Property holds it value way more than cars. As well the travel certs. is iffy...what if things change you are unable to travel.
But of course as with some wins you need a bit of extra money( even with trips wins you need money to pay what is not included like airport taxes, food)..
