I got a $50 Mark's gift card delivered by courier today. It was from some Communications company, likely a PR firm. There was no letter explaining what it was for and I didn't get an e-mail telling me I had won anything.
I love surprises like that

Its my birthday today and I opened my email this morning to find an email telling me that I won 2 tix to see Canada's got talent on Dec 3, Sadly I had to decline the ticket because I have my family chirstmas party on the same date and time Not even sure why I entered it...I thought I was being careful about stuff like that?!

I did the exact same thing! I won tickets to see a taping in Vancouver, and I live on Vancouver Island so it's a bit of a process to get there, and I had a paper due the next day, so I had to give them up as well! Would have been a neat experience though!

Checked my e-mail this morning and saw I won a $100 prepaid give and go visa from the Give & Go Facebook page (it's neat, you get to spend $80 and give $20 to a charity of your choice) - turns out the Friday winner didn't claim it so they redrew and I won

Staples did ask for proof of ID when I won a gift card thru a twitter contest, some companies do still ask for proof with small prizes.

Do they often ask for a driver's license?

Yes. I won a $10 GC from a Staples FB contest awhile back and they asked for my license.

If your license has a different address than the address you fill out the form with (our road name changed and I haven`t updated my license!) Staples will send it to the license address... I`m lucky my prize showed up! Our post office HATES delivering mail with old road names (they changed ALL our road names! )
