I won the Canadian Red Cross Summer Campaign contest. I got a bunch of cleaning supplies from Clorox, a reusable shopping bag, a really soft towel, a red backpack filled with emergency stuff (ie: flashlight, matches, candle, first aid kit, swiss army knife, etc), and an umbrella. I was soo happy to receive this!

How do you guys know which contests are legit? i entered one, and said i won a trip, then it said to send X amount of money..and it just din't feel right.

If they ask for money...no win....it's a scam.

There are release forms, proof of ID required. Emails usually have a name and number to contact as well. Another hint...and it's law...Canadian contests require a mathematical skill testing question (it could be as lame as 2+3, but it makes it legal)
