edit: lol i posted this in the wrong thread! Meant to post in mail freebies!
wowzers! So I went to pick up the messenger bag from Now that I won at the Green Living Show.... umm ya, it's worth $420!?!?
I won't use it, but what do I do? I looked on ebay and there aren't any others for sale. I'm afraid if I try to sell it on ebay and it doesn't sell I'll be stuck with high listing fees.
Any chance it would sell on Craigslist or Kijiji? Do people really look for $400 bags there?
Man, I knew the shoes were expensive, but I thought the messenger bag was just going to be some $20 messenger bag or something... this is like a $620+ win now!
Congrats to all the winners maybe today will be my day
I doubt that you'll get much for it on Kijiji or Craigslist - the people on those sites are usually looking for big bargains.
My suggestion - if you're really really sure that you're not going to use it - is either to give it as a special gift to someone (like does someone have a special b-day coming up), and use the money you would have spent to buy yourself something nice.
The other option I would suggest is, if you are involved with any charities or service groups, perhaps you can donate it as a prize (like for a golf tournament) or a silent auction item. That way you'll be helping them to raise funds for whatever cause you'd like to support.
I agree with the last poster. I help out with my hospital's slent auction and prizes like that are always welcome. Check out your local hospital and see if they have a silent auction/fundraiser coming up.
Hey Sylence, it is really only a few buck to list on Ebay, then they take a commission/percentage of what you sell your item for and it is not a ton of money, something like 10% or even less. I sell on E bay and I always think of it as I would never have been able to hook up with the people I sell to otherwise, give it a shot and just put a minimum bid of like 200 bucks, list for as long as you can, make sure your listing states retail cost and I am sure someone will bite-good luck and congrats...
I thought ebay didn't charge you unless your item sells??
2 wins in 24 hours - On a twitter contest hosted by Mom Central last night I won a flip video camcorder valued at $249.00. Then today I work I won a $25.00 for our lunch program.
At lunch I went out and bought a lottery ticket, just incase the "goes in 3's fairy" blesses me.
I never win anything, so this is proof that it can happen to anyone.
I do have to thank SC, without you I would never have known about twitter parties.
