Which Contests have you won

It sure is frustrating, the companies demand a reply from winners often within 48 hours and then they leave us hanging for way too long. I won a tent from Subway and it was about 5 months before I finally got it. They kept saying they did not received my release forms etc etc. Wish this could be handled in a better mannner. On the other hand some prizes are sent extremely fast and we sure appreciate that.

Originally the information came by purolator. I was aksed to return the information within 7 days. I did track the package through purolator and know that they received my package. I tried phoning two days later just to confirm that there was nothing else that they needed. I never did get a call back. I did read the information once again and it said 6-8 weeks. I am at the end of week 6 and tried phongin the other day because I need to find coverage if I am leaving in the next couple months. Again no return call. I didn't want to announce anything before I knew for sure we had the information in our hands...we were not sure if we should contact peek freans out of fear of loosing the contest all together....does that sounds strange? Thank you everyone for all of your help. Who knows maybe it will arrive in the next two weeks since that would be 8 weeks...*sigh*

wtbfl- on the Peak Freans thing again- I have won a few trips over the years and all of them had a window of 1 year within which they could be taken, actually one from the Toronto Sun was 18 months so I wouldn't worry about booking the time off as I am sure they will provide you with ample time to book-let us all know when you finally get your prizing info and where you choose to go. I am sure you will get it soon...

I agree..promo reps have more than a contest to organize..it is important to initiate the contact but there is no purpose in getting demanding as it just makes it unpleasant.

When they say 6-8 wks some companies stretch it to 8 wks. If though you have to coordinate holidays with a spouse and then others at work, it is helpful to let them know your time constraints. My husband must have his holidays booked on the holiday list a year in advance. Certainly efforts are made to be flexible but at popular times it can be difficult.

It is one of the reasons to be very very careful about entering trip contests because if your life is not set up to be able to deal with uncertainity it can be difficult. There are always time constraints when taking trip wins and most often companies expect you to travel by year end or within a year of the win.

It is awful when people forfeit trips because they can't get time off work, their spouse will not travel, their health does not allow it, or they have other plans. I am sure sponsors get frustrated as those are the kinds of things you know before entering..

I guess I was worried when they didn't return calls. Trust me I am going...I already programmed the weather network to show me the weather in Hawaii =) Just looking forward to counting sleeps =)

Im very surprised to hear that. I won a Vegas vacation in 2008 from them and I had nothing but excellent communication from Kraft. I was shocked and really didnt understand what I had won when I opened the package. So I called the enclosed number and the lady i talked to was very helpful...She told me what to do and a travel agency would be intouch with me to arrange my vacation...which happenend within 2 weeks...I had to pick 3 friends really quick and send all the info. The travel agent was always in contact with me via email and phone calls. My itinary came when promised..I hope you get things straightend out!!!Good luck!!
