I just accepted a job in Guelph, and will be relocating from St. Thomas, immediately!!!
I've never lived anywhere but St. T, so I'm excited and a little scared about this adventure.
Right now, I'm looking for somewher to LIVE! We are going to be looking at an apartment tomorrow. It's certainly a challenge to search for apartments from an hour and a half away! I hope this one works out -- securing housing is going to make my stress level decrease significantly.
Anyway -- thought I'd introduce myself, so you can get used to seeing my name on the Guelph forum! This thread is currently associated with: N/A

Welcome you will love Guelph, i have lived here a total of 12 years, the after the first 10 i moved to Oshawa and lived there for 4 years and i moved back here to Guelph just over 2 years ago, i don't think i will move again. And i agree apartment hunting when you live a ways away is hard, but we did it, and we love where we are.

Three hours on the 401 last night - - - still no apartment. We are going back tonight to look at 2 more.
Thank you for the welcome. I'm sure we are going to be happy in Guelph, once the stress of moving is behind us.
So, first thing I need to know -- what paper do I need to subscribe to, to make sure I get all the flyers!?!?

You get all the flyers in the Tribune which is free, now to get smartsource either the Guelph Mercury which you have to subscribe to, or the free smart shopper.

I think I'm going to enjoy being downtown. I'm already mapping out where the public library is, etc. It's going to be so nice to be able to walk everywhere, after commuting and hour and a half everyday for the past three years.
What did we ever do before Google maps? I love being able to look up addresses, and then click on "streetview" and see what the area looks like so I'll be able to find my way around when I begin exploring Guelph.
And I discovered both a quilt guild, and a quilt shop in Guelph -- so now that I'm not spending so much time in my car, I'm hoping to be able to get back into quilting.
