Does it count if someone mistakened my 56 year old dad as my husband?? Or mistaken my husband twice as my son (even though my husband is one year older than me!) Do I qualify for the seniors discount since I must look like an almost senior..lol.

Good idea for a thread though.

    I'm jealous.
I don't qualify for the discounts [age].
    Hmmm.
Maybe I should make friends with a lot of seniors and go shopping when they do.

    JUST JOKING!

But, I like learning from seniors. They were the original Smart Canucks before this site existed: smart, frugal, wise.

Don't forget to ask if they have a seniors discount at any motels that you stay at

I can so relate to that. I am the youngest of 6 children. I`ve been mistaken as the mother of 3 of them...also of my DH who is 10 years older than me. I quit dyeing my hair in my 30`s and sometimes use a cane (arthritis) so I`ve been getting the senior`s discount for years...they would give it to me without asking. Ironically now that I`m old enough for the 55 discount I`ve been getting asked because I have a "youthful looking" face lol

    Hey everyone,
Having a husband 20+ to me brings us ALL kinds of discounts!!
Often times, we get the senior discount and they will us 2x seniors prices on items we buy/use. vacations are a BIG opportunity to save.
I am a cruise agent in my off hours and I always ask if someone is 55+. Cannot tell you how many time the cruise lines will give preferrential pricing , often hundreds off. As long as there is 1 person in the group that is 55+ EVERYONE on that booking SAVES.
