I have been reading of late of experiences that are not so pleasant at the checkout...there seems to be a variety of them at all stores, no one chain is exempt...it seems to be the luck of the draw when you go to checkout...some are surprisingly friendly and supportive...others treat you like you're committing a major felony when using coupons...I looked up some stats recently about coupon usuage...mainly because I was doing a financial literacy presentation for teenagers...this might interest some people...stats are American but can't imagine they are any different for Canada...but the average income of people who regularly use coupons is about $70K......so much for the old adage that people who use coupons are low income earners...and so what if they are? Who says we aren't entitled to save our hard earned money? If manufacturers didn't intend for us to use coupons, they wouldn't send them.....
has anyone seen the I am Canadian rant that came out a few years ago??? I'd like to see a couponer rant...lol.....a mantra...Gotta be some creative people out there, give it a shot.....

Today I had an incredible shopping day. Amazing savings and not one cashier had that 'you're a scammer' tude. In fact one of them, the one at Walmart where I got 25 tins of soup and a bunch of other stuff for 1.46 (no aspirin ) said WoW, thats awesome, when she rang it all through.. it was nice.. I was treated the same as if I paid cash every stop.. now thats how it should be.

"I'm a couponer and sugah, your tude is rude"
Be sure to click like and post a brag if you get the deal.. It makes my day!!! Flattery may just get you more deals

Be sure to double check your flyer, points and cashback offers~ YMMV

not exactly creative~more of a wish. i use coupons. i stand at the cash register, judged by cashiers and other shoppers, all the while trying to smile and keep reminding myself that it is my right to use coupons (as long as the manufacturers produce them). i shuffle from one foot to another wondering "why does this have to be so painful?" i have read my coupons, know the dates are not expired, know the mailing address is canadian, know i've read the wording, know i'm not trying to pull a scam! wouldn't it be a wonderful thing if ALL STORES had the same coupon policy? generic. across the board. wow, wouldn't it be fantastic if ALL CASHIERS had the same training? always. no deviations. no questions. all trained to accept coupons as per the same generic policy. preferably walmart's policy, lol

Reading everyones comments here are great. It gave me a idea, might be crazy but I am going say it anyway. If there was a way to put a lil rant like the above@weasy71 wrote. Put it on business card form and after your done paying with the idiot cashiers put it down for them to read. And also to the rude person behind u or bice person and nice cashier. Kind of funny I think.

I was thinking the exact same thing...a little card with a compilation of some of the statistics stuff too. I would happily leave one behind.

I was talking with the asst manager at the LD in wpg the other day. He told me that the coupon redemption rate in the USA is about 2% the coupon redemption rate in Canada is almost 5%. He said this is one of the reasons why P&G changed the wording on Canadian only coupons as they were not making enough profit on us!

As a bonus informational piece the asst manager at LD also told me that another LD in wpg is in the works! He just doesn't know when or where yet just that its coming.
