BOGO store deal + BOGO manufacturer's coupon... can you combine them?

hi,

RCSS has a BOGO deal on windex, but I also have a manufacturer's coupon for BOGO. Can I combine both deals? will they accept it?

or if they give me a problem what is my "case of defense"? lol

i read somewhere that you would end up getting both items free. But i called RCSS head office and the girls said you can't combine both offers. it may be different when I cash out.

Can anyone tell me their experience with this?

At RCSS it honestly depends on who you get as a cashier..... their coupon policies seem to vary widely. No harm in trying though that's for sure!

I've never had a problem doing this. I did it today with the scrubbing bubbles and I did it last week with the M&Ms.

It works like this. The BOGO deals is just that. You buy 1 and you get 1 free. You then use your BOGO coupon on top of it and you are essentially using your coupon to pay for the free one, which results in getting 2 for free. The one you would normally be buying ends up being free because you are using your BOGO coupon to pay for it.

OK, so here's how it works:

In a BOGO sale the customer pays for one item and the store pays for the second.

With a BOGO coupon the customer pays for one item and the manufacturer pays for the second.

If you use a BOGO coupon in combination with a store BOGO sale, the store pays for one and the manufacturer pays for the second.

The store makes money when you use the coupon because the manufacturer pays a handling fee in return for the store accepting your coupon.

OK, I was just looking at the coupons for the BOGO Windex and Scrubbing /bubbles and both say they are "not valid in conjunction with other offers, promotions or discounts". Doesn't that rule out the possibility using them?

I interpret that to mean that it can't be combined with any other coupon. Otherwise, you'd never be able to use a coupon on a sale item.

It really comes down to the cashier with whom you are interaction. From a financial perspective, the store makes the same amount of money whether you pay with cash or coupon.

It is worth noting too that RCSS tills don't deduct the free items until the end of the trisection so if the cashier is entering the coupons as s/he goes then they may not question it.

Ya, mine didn't work how I planned it in my head..

I went in with two BOGO coupons on scrubbing bubbles. I wanted to buy two, and get four free. I thought I bought one, use the coupon for a free one, and the store would give one for their sale.

So I picked up six! Not thinking I would buy 3 and get three free anyways, I was thinking the above. So with the BOGO's and Coupons I bought one and got 5 free. Store put in the 3 free ones, and then I got credit for two with the coupon! OPPS. I feel bad. I guess if I just had the one coupon it would have done that. I don't want to scam anyone, and that was not my thinking until I looked at the receipt later..

I used my BOGO coupons today at RCSS.
I had one BOGO windex coupon. Buy 1, get 3 free.
I had two BOGO scrubbing bubbles coupons, buy 1, get 5 free.
Cashier put them through no questions asked, store gets reimbursed by the manufacturer so I dont see why it's a problem.

i just read the coupons, and it clearly says "limit one coupon per purchase. one redemption per customer." do the cashiers just ignore this? i'd like to use more than one, but i don't want to be rejected at the till...

I went to RCSS here today, with about 10 coupons, and their system only lets them use 6 coupons before they have to call a supervisor. The supervisor after ringing everything through looks at one of the coupons that said "one coupon per purchase" and "one redemption per customer" and told me that I should be only able to use one coupon for my whole order (as in one coupon on x number of items, and that was it). I was only using one of the same coupon, not trying to stack or use multiple of the same coupon. She didn't stop the transaction though, I think she was just trying to deter me from using it. Next time I am going to try and stack a Coupon Zone with a MFR and see what happens there.
