When you use a coupon with an overage at Wal-Mart do you get the coupon put in as it is. For example product is $2 - coupon value is $3 they give you the overgae automatically without saying anything. or do you have to tell them that they should be putting in the full coupon value. I am getting the feeling that they are instructed to put the coupon value as the product value but if someone says something, then do it. In the end Wal-mart would profit from those overages since they are getting the full value of the coupon.

I alsways get the coupon put in as the price of the product.

they should all know. But always good to have the coupon policy with you just in case.

I get both, but when they try and put it in at the lower price i just ask them to check their policy and they correct it to the full coupon value. I find the cashiers are getting better with knowing the policies.

They have always put it in as full price *unless its FPC where they do item price where some others have had max value*

I have had both experiences....cashiers trying to lower the coupon value because they seem misinformed and because they have been instructed to do so...I always mention that it should be the value of the coupon no matter what and sometimes I get a reaction that indicates they truly did not know and other times I get "Oh that's right, thanks for reminding me" type of response which to me indicates that they knew but weren't going to do it unless I spoke up...
