I have recently noticed something, now I live in the coupon world. The peelies on products that are supposed to be on certain products, are not always there. Actually more times then not they are not on the product. I was going to buy baby mum mums on sale with the peelies but couldn't find one peelie in 7 stores yesterday.
Now my question is..legally is this theft..or when come to couponing its free for the taking? I am really not here to judge anyone..because obviously many ppl take them w/o the purchase. But if this isnt stealing why do i pay for the products to get the coupons.

I don't know how the law would view it. I'd be interested to find out how the stores that sell the products feel about and what they'd do if they caught someone taking the peelies off their products. I personally don't take peelies if I haven't bought the product...in my mind it's stealing.

LOL - "I WILL NOT JUDGE YOU"
The product peelies are MOST DEFINATELY intended for the purchaser of said product. I say it is immoral, if not theft.

I leave peelies if I am not buying the product. I'm not sure it would be considered theft.

I think theft..it would be like taking a bonus product that is attached to another product. It is put there to entice you to buy the product, it's not first come first served

Seriously....what is the matter with people? I was told at L.D. that if they see you steal the peelies, coupons on products, etc., you can be banned from the store. If that is the outcome, then it is a definite no-no. Besides, wouldnt you totally feel like you were committing a crime going up to a bottle of listerine at walmart and picking off the peelie for the aveeno??? I would....I would feel like everyone was watching me!

I agree that peelies are for those purchasing the product.
Several months ago Macleans did and article on a U.S. couponer, who believed peelies were free for the taking. There was several people that did Judge her.

Taking something without paying is stealing! Whether it is a peelie or a product. Same goes for the insert takers from papers - shame

There are bottles of listerine with a sample of aveeno and a $3 peelie...
There was a time that Walmart had them on sale for $5.79 or something, then if you used the $3 coupon it was $2.79...made it totally worth getting with the free sample and peelie...no stealing required.
