    Are they safe?
    Are they dangerous to health?

I say unsafe, especially since they don't know what effect the combo of ingredients really has.
Who the heck needs 8,000% of Vit. B12 through one drink?

    Good article!

I hear that a lot of college students and high school students use energy drinks. Especially around exam time.
I wonder about the effects on their developing brain cells?

Actually that article is about those little Energy Shots you can buy, not the drinks.

I think they are refering to those 5 hour energy shots and others out there.

I took one once on long drive home from Quebec and Oh my god, I felt like I was on drugs. I was sooo full of energy and could barely sit still. I really think those shots are dangerous, I didn't feel safe driving at all. I don't even think I could function walking around normally if I had just taken one.

As for energy drinks, I don't think they are that dangerous. I've drank them, a couple at a time actually, and I felt a little more energized but nothing like the shots.

I think the drinks are okay once and awhile but not an everyday thing. But as for the shots, no WAY!

You are correct. My link was for energy shots.
Thanks for letting me know about your experience with energy shots and driving.

I found an article about energy drinks.

I've never taken them, but my personal feeling is, unhealthy. We need to get our energy from sufficient sleep and adequate nutrition, you can't make up for those things from a little bottle.

Yes, I drink coffee, not healthy either, but my one cup of coffee a day isn't that bad. My wine intake is far more unhealthy, but well, we won't go there.

The caffeine in coffee is much less than in the energy drink or energy shots.

Some university students were in the hospital last year due to Four Loco energy drink. We don't have that brand here as far as I know.

Some research says small amounts of coffee and wine are o.k.

I agree with you about sleeping and eating good food.

I've never had the shots, but energy drinks give me heart palpitations. I stay away from most caffeine, coffee occasionally. No coke.

I drink soda (probably shouldn't as I get so hyper) coffee (I know my limit because I get jittery fast) once in a while, and one in a blue moon I might have a rockstar or monster energy drink. I don't remember trying an energy shot. But I think I have seen an energy gum in the dollarstore. Does anyone remember the free sample of memory fx? They are a pill that is supposedly helps with concentration. I'm not sure if it is similar, but I remember getting sick the following week after I had tried them but I am not certain of the cause, but a friend told me I shouldn't be using those types of things.

Yes, I think that the pills and the gum have similar ingredients like the drinks and shots.
I think they do the same things.
So, I understand why you may have been sick.

    Thanks for your comments.

I think that the companies do a great job of marketing.
So any danger is far from your mind.
Making money is the most important thing for the companies.

According to my opinion any artificial supplement definitely has side effect. Today it is scientifically proved that all healthy drinks and food supplements contain pesticides and having use it regularly causes heart, lungs, etc cancer.

My friend took one energy drink and he has got paralysis so I am scared about any kind of artificial drink better if you go with natural foods like whole grain, dry fruits etc.
