I have always been told that they have to specify the price, and not just the dollar off amount. I have never tried though....

The competitor's coupons have to specify price....not just be a $ off.

The last few posters said it right!
The coupon has to state the sale price (not just the dollar off) to be able to use a competitor's coupon.

I thought that Walmart only accepted competitor coupons if they specified a price for ex. Revlon lipsticks $4.00 each with this coupon

And not the Save $4.00 with this coupon which means that you would take $4.00 off their regular price????

Also the policy you posted seems to explain the same??

    • Competitors coupons qualify if:
o issued by a Canadian competitor
    o for a specific item for a specified price i.e. $2.99

so if you are PM from an RCSS flyer to their $4.99 Revlon sale price then using the $4.00 off coupon from RCSS is that right?

I just want to make sure this is what you did to score the 99 cent price for the Revlon lipsticks and if you did if this falls within Walmarts competitor coupon policy.

As I stated I am a newbie and just want to make sure that I can do this because it's obviously a great deal and I don't want to miss out. But I also do not want to attempt something that does not fall under WM's coupon guidelines. Any clarification would be helpful. Thanks!
You might consider yourself a newbie but you are very correct!!
Kind of funny that OP supported his claim with the coupon policy that clearly states the opposite.

That is the way I interpret it too... so I am surprised that it would be allowed. I am wondering if that particular Walmart cashier let it through by mistake.

Actually, the competitor coupon, is more of price matching in WalMart, like the coupon book in Rexwall, usually say with this coupon, we see you this tooth brush for $0.99. This is what really WalMart accept, i.e. for price matching. They won't really take competitor coupons itself and treated as coupons. I've asked the head office earlier.

Yeah, my Walmart won't accept a coupon that says $4.00 off it has to have the price of the item for them to price match it.

I have had mixed experiences. We used the physicians formula coupon zone for $5 off at walmart and out of 7 times going thru the till we were turned down once. However we did not price match and use a competitors coupon at the same time. What i did pay close attention to was the way it was rung in, same as any other coupon and they didn't bat a eyelash. I will add that i was not trying to go against walmarts policy in any way. I was informed on smart canucks that it was possible to do and that walmart in calgary was allowing it. (they are very tough and go by the book there) You can always try... but be up front and ask and go to a cashier that already knows the rules that you are familiar with.

K I'm not sure what walmart you are using but the polocy states:
    • Competitors coupons qualify if:
o issued by a Canadian competitor
    o for a specific item for a specified price i.e. $2.99
o buy one, get one free (BOGO) coupons for items with a specified price
o they have a valid expiration date
o and are acceptable in black, white or color

Rexall coupons will not work for this reason.
