I have decided to attempt my first auction.

This is that very auction!

Auction is for a $10 giftcard to a store of the winner's choice (provided it is somewhere I can buy a giftcard from here in Halifax---possibilities off the top of my head include Canadian Tire, Walmart, Zellers, Bulk Barn, Value Village, Shoppers, PC, Winners, various clothing emporiums, Sobeys....The possibilities are not endless, but they are many! )

Auction will be open until Sunday Sept 11 at 5pm.

As well, I am packing my pet first auction with a whole pile o' bid-bonuses:

If bids hit 50 pts, I will throw in 2 surprise hard-to-get HV coupons.

If bids hit 100 pts, I will throw in the aforementioned surprise coupons, and a surprise fpc.


If bids hit 150, I will throw in 2 more surprise HVs; once they hit 200, all the aforementioned, plus another surprise fpc (and so on, in 50 point increments...)

Plus: if bids pass the 100 pt mark, I will give every bidder who bids after that point 100 SDM Optimum points each . (100 Optimum pts available per member...so if you bid more than 100 pts on the auction, than are outbid, then bid again, you still only get the bonus pts once. Have to save up for Christmas. )

Please let me know if any of this is overcomplicated or unclear.

Reserve the right the pull the auction if bids fail to reach levels that make the auction worth my while, but I can't see that happening.

So far, auction winner will be getting $10 gift card of their choice (from the stores listed or anywhere I can get to here in Hali), 6 x mystery harder-to-get coupons, and 2 x surprise fpcs (another fpc gets thrown in when bids pass 300.) Plus: the people that have bid so far have managed to get that many points without even bidding with fpcs, so it's pretty easy to make a high-point bid without parting with too much with the points the way they are. (And each new bidder now is getting 100 Optimum points, since bids have passed 100 pts. )
