First I wanna say its not selling anything here but this is a deal i just find out recently. initially we do need to invest something which get a Pay as you go Wind Mobile sim card, that probably cost 25 dollar. However, it would be able to save you so much money on your cell phone bill in the future years. Of course you need to have a Wind Mobile cell Phone for initial investment as well.....

I was with Wind for almost 2 and half years, for the first time ever I realize they offer pay as you go as well if you do not want to spend monthly $29 plan which is already a super deal. Let me tell you what to do...

Get a sim card. Wind says as long as you top up $3 per month in your pay as you go sim, your number will be active all the time. and also the most important good deal is when you pick up the phone it doesnt cost you anything to pick up ....which means if you do not use any text or any calls or data...your $3 will still be inside your account at the end of the month ...wow..unbelievable right? however you need to top up another $3 for the next month in order to maintain your number active so which means it will cumulative.....

Of course everyone needs to make a calls, thats the point of phones right? lol....

UHmm...when we use windmobiel call out if you dont have a plan or adds on it cost 20cents per minutes which sounds quite expensive and standards. However I have a very cheap way to make sure all of you can make calls with very cheap rate which I just find out. I got this calling cards online they usually can call international or local long distance or even local number so whatever number you want to call....initially i only knows they have different local city direct number for you to call....I got this calling card from Keepcalling.ca calling local canada only cost 1 cents per minute...And they have a free toll free number which u can also use to call. 1 (866) 662 0745, when you initially buy credits online you could also put your cell phone on their file which allow you dont need to put pin number every time. so for $3 plus tax you can get 300 minutes anywhere to canada and us. if you need more you can always get more , if you didnt use the minutes for that month you can always roll over to the next month and the good part is they never expires...

I would also top up $10 per month on my wind phone...then call customer service get the add on unlimited text messaging for $5 a month, and another $5 for 50 MB data which allow me to check my emails on my phone since they go directly to my blackberry. if you dont use internet on your phone you can always leave these $5 on your account and once out of a blue moon if you need to check internet it will cost you $1 per MB.

So all in all...$5 for text message unlimited, $5 for 50 MB DATA, $3 from Keepcalling minutes for 300 minutes out going calls, and always free incoming call...In totally $13 plus tax per month. and if you didnt use up ur minutes from keepcalling it roll over to the next and if you dont need data ur bill will only come up to $8 per month plus tax.

The only thing is it is a little bit inconvenient to call out every time since u need to dial the 1800 number and then dial the number you need to dial manually....
So is everybody agree with me this is a super good deal and combo to save your cell phone bills no matter if you do or do not make phone calls ??????

I work for a telecommunications company and just for others that are thinking of using a calling card on their cell phone but are regular monthly customers. Beware that your cell provider does not guarantee use of a calling card. It may work sometimes but it may be charging you additional charges. On a pay as you go service it is different. But you may go thru your initial top up faster.

Won't it cost you minutes (@ 0.20/ea) to call the 1-800 number?

Ok...have to clarify...I top up $3 on my new wind number...after my top up has been all used but still in the one month period time my phone is still in active I am still able to receive incoming calls, however it does not allow me to call out unless its a 1800 toll free number. I use my keepcalling calling card for the 1800 access number it works and I check about my keepcalling account...when I call 1800 number it cost about 3 cents per minute to call local or long distance number...hope it helps...

Good deal! I can't get wind mobile where I am located, but I've managed to get a good rate with Bell's Prepaid Service.

I bought my smartphone outright on Ebay for $140. It's not brand new, but it's new enough for me. It's unlocked from Rogers. I have the $20.75 Voice & Message Plan which includes Unlimited local calls from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m & Unlimited text, picture & video messages. I've added 250mb of data for $10.00 per month (this is half price because of the plan I have), for a total of $30.75 per month. This includes FREE caller ID. I have more than enough data for what I need. I've never gone over, but I do have internet at home that I use most of the time. There is also a $5.00 100mb per month if you didn't need that much data.

My DH doesn't use his phone much to talk on (very rarely) but does like data and texting. He has the Nickel Nights & Weekends plan, the $7.00 500 video/picture text add on, and the $10 data add on. Free caller ID. It's about $17 per month. He doesn't have much data, but he has enough for what he needs. He just can't watch many videos oh his phone, he uses our home internet for that.

nanababy - How do you find the Wind service?

kashkoush - I am in Mississauga too. I'm with Fido now but was thinking of switching. With your feedback, Wind doesn't seem like a viable option.
