Yeah, what's up with these flyers lately. So bummed with them. I thought for sure the deals would pick up now that fall is here (well, sort of - if you feel 30 degrees is fall weather )

I heard a spokesperson on the Winnipeg news today say that Safeway lowered their prices (due to Super Walmart and Target) - almost choked on my lunch and fell off my chair!! For the life of me I can't seem to find which products were lowered LOL!! We just keep seeing them go up and up and up! The sale prices here and even more expensive than the regular prices at other stores. Unreal! Unfortunately, it's people like one of my friends who keep that place open by always paying full price whenever she shops there. I truly am trying to get her into sales/coupons/air miles, etc. Slow process LOL!

P.1 updated and as Ron noted nothing too outstanding except possibly the Primo Plum Tomatoes which are BOGO and B6G30 or 5AMs/tin.

Depending on the price they might be OK. Remember while 5 AMs = $0.55 approx. as a BOGO you'd subtract twice that amount per tin or $1.10.

So if they're on for $1.50 effectively they'd be $0.40/tin.

The "Extreme Specials" are so so on the paper towels but no no on the TP.

Hopefully after the Auction promotion there are some good AM deals so we can start to re-build some of what was spent on these items, I think I am just over 10,000 AM deep so far during this promotion.... So far!

Ah, I totally agree. I love the Safeway shopping 'experience' - the three locations closest to us are beautiful stores, great staff, they always have stock - BUT because of the prices, I rarely shop there anymore. Especially now that they have gone to the multiple item pricing (GAH!) - and I really dislike when they have BOGO they don't include the price in the flyer - and often jack up the prices previous to BOGO sales...
I used to shop there weekly... now maybe twice a month.

I've started to read this thread, though, to see the deals, and the AM fun all of you are having!

Yes, the B1G1's are sometimes jacked up to ludicrous $$. I was looking at the Royale 6pk tissues this week (B1G1 but no bonus air miles!). I have $1.00 off coupons too so depending on the actual price, it may/may not be a good deal. I never see them on sale anywhere else though.....usually the Scotties 6pack! SDM puts them on sale but individual ones, not the 6pack. I really really look forward to OB's advice on the best time to buy with air miles bonuses!!

    Here's a US price of $649.99

    http://camcorder.jvc.com/product.jsp...Id=171&page=10

Assuming that's normal it cost $246 worth of AirMiles.

I'd say you got a fair deal.

    Natz,

You hit the nail on the head. Most of my friends think I'm obsessed with AirMiles but it's not true. It's the game aspect that is fun. Every week is a puzzle and you have to find the way to make it work to your advantage.
