This coming week is kind of weird. It's Safeway's 80th Anniversary so they got several B5G80 items on but none that appeal to me although they are available on many produce items. Problem is you have to buy 5 such as 5 bags of oranges @ $5.99 each. While that's a good deal on produce and airmiles I'm just not going to eat 25lb.s in a week.

Few name brand products this week.

The front cover has Delicio Pizza @ $5.99. If you have the $3 coupons and Sunday's email.direct has bonus AMs that could be a good one.

Signature Cafe Meals are B3G$3 off this week. Below is an early email direct with bonus AMs and $1 coupons:

email.direct: If this is it I'll pass as I seldom spend $100 at Safeway at a time. I'll wait for 10% Tuesday (next week I believe) instead.

BTW: Passed through Safeway last night. The food bank boxes were fuller than I've ever seen before. It was all Nutrigrain boxes, etc. Just remember: to get the charitable tax donation credit you have to take the product directly to the food bank and give them the receipt.

There's not much of interest this week in the flyer. Luckily it's 10% Off Tuesday (Min. $35 purchase):

    Unilever: B3G10 or B6G30

    Sidekicks 4 for $5
    Becel $5.29
    Knorr Broth 2 for $5
    Knorr Frozen Dinners $7.99
    Hellman's Mayo $3.99

    30 AMs = $4.20 approx.

    6 Sidekicks = $7.50
    10% off = $6.75
    Effectively ($6.75 - $4.20)/6 = 42.5 cents each

I have a couple of coupons that will reduce this but I'll be throwing them in the food bank bins.

    Purex: B2G50 @ $7.99

Isn't it already B2G30 at a lower price this week?

    SC Johnson: B3G15 or B6G45:

    Windex $2.99
    Toilet Duck $2.50
    Etc.

    Etc.

For this deal, it also includes Scrubbing Bubbles and Skintimate. I have 4 coupons for the Scrubbing Bubbles, 1 for Skintimate and 1 for the Windex. I think I should be able to get the 45 AM for $3.00.

No AM for this, but the Dove Hair Products are $2.99, but if you have the $1.50 off coupons, it's a decent deal. I'm going to try to use my Bhttp://forum.smartcanucks.ca/images/smilies/redface.gif2G1 as well for this.

Kelloggs Cereal is also 4 for $10 and if you have the B2S$2, you'll be getting each box for $1.50.

Lots of BOGO deals too including Bick's pickles, Heinz Brown Beans and others.

Plus, if you go on Tuesday, an additional 10%!

Hope this week's email.direct is more than just this. I assume there'll be a 2nd one later tonight:

This deal includes scrubbing bubbles and there are coupons for $3 off (if they accept internet coupons) we could get 45 airmiles for free!!

    questions....

for the 10% off do they take it off before or after coupons? i've never spent any more than $20 at Safeway so I really have no clue about this one.

for flyers in Alberta it says scrubbing bubbles deal only for the action scrubber and refill??? is there a different version out east??

Also another good deal for this week is Buy 3 Kraft and get FREE pie!!!! one of the participating products is the Philidelphia Cream Cheese Dip @ 2/$5, I got $1 off coupon. At Sobyes its Buy 2 Kraft and get FREE Hot Cross Buns, but i think Safeway's deal is better.

Sometimes the flyer doesn't list all eligible products for an AM special.

Usually you have to get one of those little blue flyers in the store.

I see Scrubbing Bubbles has a new "Toilet Bowl Gel Stick". I don't know if it's eligible yet, however, if it is there are FPCs in the Shop & Save or Smartsaver newspaper inserts from the weekend.

Shooooooot! Missed getting this one tonight! Didn't do so well on the airmiles this month, nor did I get to my 60%. What with all my Easter party food and turkey, etc., I only managed to do the following:

    Paid Out of Pocket: $164.67
    Club Card Savings: $99.76
    Coupon Savings: $32.50
for a Total Savings of 45% or $132.26.

From now on, I'm going to just look at the Coupon Savings and the Airmiles as the REAL savings as Safeway has hiked many, MANY of their prices sky high (Jane's chicken nuggets - regular price $18? REALLY?? Who would buy them???). The Club Card savings are the price these items should really be--if not lower!! Further, manufacturers, such as Olivieri have shrunk their packaging YET again! Soon, there will be no difference between their small pasta packages and their large!

That's why I focus on loss leader products I use that come with bonus AMs.

Safeway used to have a reputation for always being high priced. It's not that way anymore but in a straight comparison to Wal-Mart/RCSS?etc. on a basket of goods they certainly don't fit the best price category. However, if you're careful and have the time (I do) you can do really well, eg:

When Safeway had the Kashi on (B5G100) @ $2.50 each everyone else I came across had it for $4.99-$5.99. Same with the recent Harvest Crunch ??? (B5G50) @ $2.50 each. When you add in the value of the AMs it's hard to beat.

This week, April 12 - 18, isn't particularly spectacular for me:

Pepsi: B6G40 (AM value approx. $5.60 or $0.93/item)

    Lays 235g $2.50
    Tostitos 240-350g $3
    Gatorade 12 Pack (1L??? each) $9.99
    Gatorade 8 Pack 591 ml $5.99
    Pepsi 12 pack $4.50
    Pepsi 8 pack 355ml $3.50

Pop prices seem high for me definitely vs. house brands.

Mars Canada: B6G40 (AM value approx. $5.60 or $0.93/item)

This one's hard to value as not all prices are given.

Mars 4 packs $3 (after AMs about $0.52/bar)
Dove Choc. Bars 100 g $2 (after AMs about $1.07/bar)
Uncle Ben's Bistro Express 20% off
Uncle Ben's Rice 20% off (lots of coupons out there)
    Pedigree/Whiskas pet food 20% off

    P&G: B3G15 ( $0.60/item) and B6G40 ($0.93/item)

    Febreze Air Effects $3
    Febreze Noticeables $.6.99
Mr. Clean Cleaners & Wipes $2.99
    Swiffer Large Duster $7.99
    Swiffer Wet Jet Cleaner $3.99

Lots of P&G coupons out there

    Jamieson Vitamins B2G20 ($2.80) 30% off

Alberto European Hair Care B4G25 30% off

Mia Pizza Bella Pizza B2G25 $5.99 each

There are varios "super coupons" with bonus AMs but no prices given. Also Bluewater fish products, etc.
