Rock,
Here's the Canada Safeway website with a link to the coupon policy at the bottom so it should be current.
http://www.safeway.ca/
My guess is the manager made up policy on the spot. Been known to happen before. I guess you could direct him/her to the site or print off a copy.

Thanks Bob-
now I'm not too happy. I don't mind if a company says for example- we will not accept internet coupons- like I said that's they're right but state it as you mention under their coupon policy then. Don't make things up. It's not so much the few dollars- it's the principal although the dollars obviously factor in. That is why I post here. I'm certainly going to follow up and let them know. I'll let this forum know when/if they reply.
Thank You.
PS- this forum is great. I've saved a ton and got great tips/advice.

Is anybody else still waiting for Air Miles to be posted to their account from Safeway purchases made up to and including Saturday March 23rd?

I mentioned I'd reply when I got a reply to my inquiry to Safeway. This is their answer to this point and my further reply.
I've cooled down a little since I wrote you. I read your coupon policy after
being directed there by a member of the Safeway forum I watch for specials
and comments. It isn't a problem if what I'm told is true- but it is a big
problem if I'm told stuff that is not true. In this case the cashier advised
me that Safeway's policy had changed and that they no longer accept internet
coupons . She told me it was because of Safeway having to deal with
fraudulent coupons. She then mentioned Advil was on sale with airmiles and
asked if I wanted to still buy the product. I said yes. In reading Safeway's
coupon policy I did see only 1 coupon per transaction for a particular
product accepted. I had 2 for Advil capsules at $2 per and 1 coupon for
Advil Nighttime at $2 so while perhaps I only was entitled to $4 off instead
of $6 I still think I should have gotten $4 off. It isn't so much the $4 or
$6 but being told something that isn't Safeway policy at all- at least not
in print. So for me and I will relay what I hear- is what I want to know for
next time is- if I take a legitimate printed internet coupon into Safeway-
will it be accepted or not? I can assure you it is not fraudulant. The advil
coupons came direct from Advil's site. It does make a difference in what I
do. I've been a longtime customer of Safeway spending thousands of dollars a
year at Safeway and I will still shop there no question but perhaps less and
I will report what happens. The $6 not a big deal in the scheme of things
except I've also lost a few hundred airmiles even after having them put in
the book so all these things make me a little peeved. Safeway has good
people but when a cashier tells me policy that is not true and the manager
confirms it when she phones to confirm- I do get peeved. I don't need to
resolve the $6 question- I need you to tell me the policy clearly so I can
know what to do in the future.
Thank You.

I too was told they no longer take internet coupons printed in Winnipeg. They actually told me that mine looked like they were copied. So I came home and printed off the "how to tell if a coupon is copied" took it back with my coupons and they did let me use them. However, I was really treated poorly and felt really awful about the whole experience. I went back just to 'clear' my name.

Bob,
I was in Safeway on Saturday and noticed they had the Kashi cereal on for buy 3 for 50 air miles at $5 a box. If you have the $2.00 off coupons I think that's a pretty decent deal. (Is it?) Also I didn't see it in the flyer? Seems odd to me. I will wait for Tuesday to make the deal better. Let me know. Here is my updated trade list: http://forum.smartcanucks.ca/4573145-post1.html

This has been an unadvertised AM special in the past.
Just 2 weeks ago we had the B5G50 $2/0.95 unadvertised special on Pringles.
When I'm in I usually troll the aisles for these specials and a few of us are known to post pictures here of the same.
