agreed... even IGA (who's the most expensive store around!!) has their turkeys $0.99/lb with no min. purchase.

I'll be buying my turkey elsewhere.

Thanks for the early peek OB!!

Not sure where to post this sooooo thought I would try here I'm a pro with Shopper's points, etc. but I have a ton of Air Miles saved up and I have never used any. Just something I never really checked into ( I know bad bad Smart Canucker What is the best way to use them? I read somewhere the points have changed and can not be used for GC's. I was actually given these points years ago and they have sadly just sat there. I have been adding to them but just not sure how to get the best value. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place. Thanks

I use them for Best Western Gift Cards on the Airmiles website usually found here (they run out fairly regularly and then are restocked):

    https://www.airmiles.ca/arrow/Reward...ryId=cat700062

You can also opt into the "Cash Rewards category and every 950 AMs buys you $100 worth of gas at Shell.

The best value though is to use them for flights. Gift Cards and gas come in with a value of 10 1/2 cents each but flights can be worth 20 cents or more.

I see there are Robin Hood brands and Tostitos coupon booklets in the new Wal Mart fall magazine. These items come up regularly as Airmile offers.

You can use them on GC's through airmiles... i agree with Bob on that. If you have a small family airfare can be out of reach... but using gc and driving some where can mean very cheap vacations every year... and maybe even a lil romantic getaway weekend. I don't travel so I have switched my airmiles to airmiles cash... and I run down to the shell station and purchase shoppers gc's. This brings my OOP down to minimal levels. I prioritize my deal finding to minimizing cash oop and as a result my shoppers points are pretty low... but the quantity of free items i take out of there by combining deals are much higher.

You can also do a variety of these options. Like... order some best western gc's and eating out and movie gc's then temporarily switch your airmiles to cash... and buy gas and gc's for eating out on your trip bringing your cost down to hopefully very little. The other thing you can do is contact people in the area who have the SUTP's and get some of the coupons they are not using in order to bring costs down (ahem Bob who is coming to calgary soon... this could just work for you too... just sayin!)

If you don't want to travel you can just use them for things like eating out gc's or movie gc's so you can have date nights for free... I hope you find great ways to make them work for YOU!

    Good tip.

Checked to see if they have an SUTP equivalent here but it's only Alberta on yours isn't it? Will give you a call.

Yeah they are city specific... let me know what you need. I have a couple books and we only really eat out at fast food locations here and there. I am sure I can talk to Mom... she gets 5 books and doesn't eat out at restaurants either. It really gives you the chance to have some more affordable prices... look through the calgary's version online and let me know what you want. (my burger king coupons are totally up for grabs... I don't like them at all) There are even some touristy coupons like 2 for 1 up the calgary tower ...50% off zoo admissions up to a group of 4... and stage west dinner theater 2 for one (the tickets are about $100 apiece but i could really see you enjoying that and possibly showing up the actors on stage a tad)

Oh yeah and save on foods will be open then too... we only pay 5% tax here so empty suitcases could be filled.
