Wonder how much sodium is in these soups? They are very good.

Talk about crap!!!!! Save-On Foods house brand "Western Family" products are awful!!!!!!!!
I see the offer on yogurt. Safeway might have high prices but they often beat on yogurt especially with bonus AirMiles. Best I could do today was $3.50 at Thrifty's, Fairway & Save-On. Most prices were $3.99 - $5.99.
Great deal! Been a long time since I shopped at safeway.
Buy 4 participating Jamieson Vitamins Get 100 airmiles.
The Jamieson Effervescent C 1000 mg 10 tablets on sale for $2.62 ( Edmonton and surrounding area) and are included as a participating product.
Bought 12 , cost 33.00 (includes tax) 301 airmiles=$31.68 plus I had 2x$2.00 coupons
Only wish they had a bonus coupon on top of it available.
I redeemed my airmiles cash for $10 Safeway eVoucher. It took about 5 - 10 minutes to receive the voucher in my email. It scanned and I got my $10 off my purchase. The cashier had to ask how to process it but the overall experience was good.
I did the same thing a couple of days ago, but it didn't scan at my local Safeway. Maybe their system wasn't updated yet? Cashier had to call manager over. Neither of them had seen this kind of voucher before (not surprising since it's new). Finally they just gave me a $10 safeway giftcard and scanned that in for my $10 discount. Hopefully next time will be a little smoother. At least now there's something I can use my Cash airmiles for...
I second that emotion. The best house brand (in my opinion) is Loblaw's President Choice. Most of their products seem good quality at a better price than the name brand. Even cheaper (and often just as good) is their NoName brand although some of the items are iffy (Western Family-ish). The problem for me is the local ExtraFoods closed down and I now have to drive 30min to the nearest Real Canadian Superstore. Don't like wasting the time and gas, and the megastore shopping experience at RCSS isn't very pleasant.
I'm very much in limbo right now, I don't consider any of the big grocery chains my "main" store. They all suck in one way or another. Lately I'm buying most of my fruits & veg at the local mom-and-pop grocery stores. Prices are decent and I'd rather support these small family businesses instead of the mega-chains.
The Safeways, RCSS, SaveOns, Thriftys, etc all seem to have a couple of items that are good value every week, but most of their regular prices are not great (RCSS is probably cheapest overall).
I'm thinking of writing a smartphone app that lets us comparison shop on groceries, like we have right now for gas prices. Anyone who wants to can update current flyer prices + regular shelf prices, and we all can benefit from the group effort. You choose the product you want (eg: chicken breasts, pears, whatever) and the app shows the current prices in your local stores, and maybe show that product's price trend over the past 6 months so you can gauge if it's a good time to stock up. Make it a free app, encourage people to contribute by updating prices every week.
Wonder if there's interest in something like this...
Sorry OB, had to share this with the group...
