Ya I now know why the Canadian housing market is so absurdly overpriced, it's probably the exact same "geniuses" that bid on these auctions. Looks like tomorrows group buy is the Bose blue speaker thing. I wonder how the genius that bid 7000 miles for it will feel when it's offered for like 450 airmiles?

Just like the housing market where some real estate agents are using their own people to bid against real buyers to jack up the prices, is it possible that someone is working for AM and/or Safeway to bid up the prices? I am just saying.

Some people must have failed their math class. 4500 miles for a $100 Safeway giftcard seems pretty reasonable. According to my calculation, 4500 miles @ 0.105/mile = $472.5. So people are paying almost 5 times for a $100 Safeway giftcard.

Got an email today from Airmiles stating the Marlin Travel Gift Certificates will be removed on October 15.
That sucks, there is a travel agent in Calgary who will allow you to pay as much as you want with the gift certificates and charges no fees.

Looks like things are speeding up. The 1800 miles for yesterdays group buy were deducted today.

Not good. My group buys are from August 23, 25 and 28th and nothing was deducted. The 1-800 rep said air miles was just slow.... Uh oh!!!!
