no when you go in between 6-8 and spend 75$, they give you a coupon for next week fro 10$ off when you spend 75$. The cashier redeems it with your purchase.

It wasn't in the flyer. I saw it in our local newspaper. You don't need a coupon or anything to get it. You just have to spend $75 and the cashier gives you the coupon for $10 off.

So, it looks like Metro grocery stores in Southern Ontario will start allowing customers to redeem reward miles at the register as part of the Air Miles Cash program starting tomorrow, March 9th.

Has anybody heard whether or not Safeway will be doing the same at some point in the near future?

That's very interesting and I do hope they win! Would give us some hope that Air Miles might reconsider! It's kinda like the gift card/certificate issue. If you WIN a gift card/certificate, the retailer has a right to put an expiry on it. If you PURCHASE a gift card/certificate, an expiry date cannot be put on it! We've 'earned' (aka purchased) those air miles so an expiry should not be allowed!

I called in to complain on Monday after the redemption rate change. Was about to book another chunk of Best Western GC for some upcomming travel. Cost went from 750 to 950. The supervisor I talked to basically said thankyou for calling, but too bad. he credited 900 AM to my account as a goodwill gesture and said goodby.

You might wish to try the same.
