    If you have the B2G10 coupon Airmiles mailed out you'd get 50 + 10 for 60 total = 12/item

    The Green Giant is $3.00 - $1.26 (12 AMs) = $1.76
The coupon I have is B2G10 or B4G25. I'm not the greatest with this math (Bob??) I'm thinking it works out to $1.42 each if I use the B4G25 (of course I will buy 5 to get the extra 50 too!)

Ah the magic of the email auto-responder has been adopted by AM, I see.
Becoming more and more of a reality in my real life, since it proves that your email was received (when it will be "acted on" is another story), and does provide you good evidence for use later, if ever needed. Of course, in the meantime, you are strongly encouraged to not wait for a response, and find the answer yourself on the interwebs, but that's another story!

I already burned my buy 4 get 25 last week to creep up to 100$.

Bear in mind though, that with no AM's or loyalty program attached, I loaded up on these at WM at $1.99, and Target at $1.79, so unless there's better math involved like a spend 100 get 100AM that pops up, will probably not go too wild.

Maybe you should have posted it right on their FB page Bob. It is surprising how fast they fix stuff when you put it on there.

    Ron.
Since it is 5000 pts for each pizza and you bought 28, shouldn't you get 28 * 5000 = 140000 pts?
You said $22 out of pocket total? What did you mean by that?
If the pizza is $3.99 each & get 5000 pts which is worth $5, you should be making $5 - $3.99 = $1.11 each, not out of pocket.

he rolled his transactions... used the points from the first set of pizza's to purchase the next set. In the end he still spent the base amount and had 50 000 points and 28 pizzas to show for it.... it was some mighty fine shopping really. He may have even had some coupons in there but I get what he did.

I rolled my transactions too... it keeps your out of pocket to a minimum.

Perhaps a few of you would care to offer your opinions to Lawrence:

    Thank you Lawrence,

Using a travel card involves real time pricing too AND DOES NOT INVOLVE A "LOYALTY FEE".

This is just a sneaky tax on LOYALTY and smacks of Big Brother in 1984. How stupid does management at Airmiles think people are!

    Disgusting!

    Hello Robert,

My name is Lawrence and I am here to help in any way I can. I'm glad we connected today.

Robert, thank you for providing your honest feedback with regards to the new Hotel booking tool online, and I'm very sorry to hear of your disappointment with it.

I will Certainly share your feedback with our rewards Group, and your suggestion to bring back the Best Western Gift Cards.

The new Hotel System is based on real time pricing from the hotels, and the amount of AIR MILES reward miles and taxes can change depending on the exact property and dates that you are booking.

Robert, again thank you for taking the time to email us your thoughts, and I am here if you have any further questions.

    Warm Regards,

    Lawrence

I doubt my comments to an AM drone would help, but I would have some experience as to the issue of hotel rates and pricing. Unfortunately, the travel search firms have mucked it up for everyone, hotel owners included.

Everyone wants the lowest price of course, and an amazing amount of people only look at the first page of hotel search results on these site before they book them. So it has become a virtual necessity (pardon the pun) to wind up on page one. Therefore, hotels have instituted the infamous "resort fee" which isn't included in the quoted price, but added later. Many times I've seen a 9.99$ rate for a room, and 19.99$ resort fee (covering such things as internet access, daily newspaper, and 2 bottles of water per room per day--wifi is usually an ADDITIONAL daily charge). Caesars Entertainment (owner of many Nevada hotels, of course) vehemently fought against, and did not charge these fees; their resistance eroded after a couple of years, and now they have them as well. Even a small downtown resort started charging them...here is a rare clip--an actual hotel owner explaining why he has to charge the fees, and play these games, or else he would be out of business (yes there is an actual Las Vegas business podcast)

    http://www.vegasgangpodcast.com/2013...gust-9th-2013/

At any rate, I would be the last person in this group to back up Loyalty, but I can appreciate how their margins are being squeezed as well, and they have to get revenue where they can.

Also, they probably have realized that people may not like the extra fees (witness luggage charges) but they still will pay them, so I think they are here to stay, alas.

In this case though it's not the hotel adding the fee. One of 2 things have most likely happened:

    A. Airmiles has off loaded the costs associated with offering gift cards to an independent booking service who have added the fee and no doubt pay Airmiles a "rental" fee.

    B. Airmiles has created the impression of an independent booking service and are directly depositing the fee to their accounts.
