Thanks. I added colour to help it stand out. In theory anyway: I'm red/green colour-blind so I actually DON'T see much difference between them. Please let me know if I mistakenly used the wrong colours.

And we're back down the 11,000's for the MacBook...I'd be complaining if I checked in overnight, gave up, and was out for the next few hours...there should be some safeguards...

Do you have to have the AM in your account to bid?

If not, maybe I will bid 1 Billion AM....???....

All Vancouver Island Safeways were ordered to be sold because of the competition laws. Good ole Pattison bought them up (had to add to his little empire) and is....as we speak.... changing them all over to Save On Foods. Word is - they are selling off all Safeway brand items and making room for Save On brand.

Certainly, but I think this will still go too high, and I think it'll crop up as a group buy somewhere down the road.

The bigger issue is the integrity of the bidding and group buy systems--you don't get the AM's deducted from your account until after the process is completed--fake bids and false group buy entries occur--I think it should be like a bank withdrawal--once you press the green button on the bank machine, the money is deducted from the account instantaneously. But of course, we've groused about this every year, and no one pays attention!!

EDIT--and 9 for 9 on successful group buys as of Saturday!

    From safeway's facebook page:

We are excited to introduce the Card Free Savings program at all Safeway locations across Canada, everybody gets our lowest price, every day. We made this change to make it even easier to save at Safeway and have introduced 1,500 additional sale prices every week.

Did my first Save-On "More" card shop today. On one item got about $9 of points on a $3.50 spend. (Can't fully reveal it or they'll stop it but let's say use the flyer coupon to buy condensed milk".)

Best thing was getting to new reards catalogue:

It includes flights and hotels and yes Best Western GCs.

Best of all "NO LOYALTY FEES".

Thanks Bob ... I had the flyer beside me at the time and can see what you mean. I've got zero experience with evaporated milk so will have to search for a good recipe.

with our Safeway stores closing, I hope to see posts about Save On as you're awesome at zooming in on the point deals

Does anyone know if there are deals on Safeway brands with stores that have converted to Save-on. I was near the Fort/Foul Bay stores but the parking lot was nuts.

I don't think 2000 points is worth $9... not even half of that.

    e,

Good on ya for the reply at Facebook.

One thing I learned was that if your thread has a reply before they censor they often send a link to the reply which still displays the censored item. That's why I replied to my own thread so I can repost it if they do.

Seems they tend not to censor on the weekends. I gather the censors get the weekends off!
