Wow Airmiles really screwed collectors. Air Canada flights are next to impossible to find at base amounts and they reduced the ticket class from the previous FLEX fare to TANGO the cheapest. I looked at a ton of destinations in the caribbean in low season should have been 4200 with my 25% discount and they all required 7120 so almost 3000 more miles per ticket. I looked at so many different destinations and different dates and not one base fare Air Canada flight to be found. They all required 7120 miles per person. I had zero choice. I ended up booking the tickets and had to shell out almost an extra 6000 miles. Then guess what, I could no longer select seats. Once i received my tickets i notice they are now TANGO fare no longer the pricier/better FLEX fare. What a bunch of Effing crooks!
Oh I just realized too with the lower class fare and I confirmed it with AC's website we now have to pay for the 1st checked bag as well with the lower class of ticket. FLEX fare got you seat selection and 1st checked bag free! ARGGGGH!!!!Last edited by Tommycoupons; Fri, Mar 13th, 2015 at 12:48 AM.

That's why I just set my preference to airmiles cash and use for free groceries. for vacations u can find some amazing deals on redtagg or selloffvacations.....this January my husband and I went on vacation to Negril Jamaica one wk all inclusive for $2560....and that included taxes and everything.....of course we spend a few dollars down there but the whole vacation was prob less than $3000 total.....and if u want to go off season u can get way better deals than that!!!

Ya, but I like longer vacations and places more off the "beaten path". Ugh I'm still so disgusted with airmiles. They basically just cut the value in half for most travel. It seems the westjet flights are still the base mile requirement. I found one trip through westjet, but their flight service is garbage and it wasn't somewhere I really wanted to go. It wanted me to layover one night in Calgary then one night in toronto and the same bloody thing on the way back. On top of all that they don't fly to as many destinations as Air Canada and their planes and service is worse than Air Canada. So it seems to me the only company Airmiles has now for "regular" flights is WestJet, because overseas flights are few destinations with insanely high service fees that make it pointless.

Did my shop at safeway. If you still have $1 off softsoap coupons they are $2.50 each and b4g50 miles so $6 for 4 soap and get 50 miles.

Here's a update on my flight redemption... After blasting them on facebook and basically calling them out on their practices. The took the website down this morning and all those Air Canada flights I was complaining about are now available for the base amount of airmiles. The same flights I seriously unfortunately booked last night for 14240 airmiles are now available for 8400 miles. I just about threw up! After using live chat the guy told me there was no way to cancel or refund the difference. he suggested calling some number to talk to someone else. The wife called, they said that today they negotiated new tickets with Air Canada. The best they claimed they could do was refund 1500 miles to our account. Ughhh I guess losing 4320 miles is better than losing 5840 miles. Still ended up paying 4320 miles more than needed. They probably reinstated the flex fare tickets too so who knows if i lost money on that as well. Nothing I can do about it and it is what it is I guess. My advice is just keep waiting for the base fare tickets and don't get tricked into their special onyx collector prices. I feel like I just got robbed...

I just bought 2 adult Disneyland passes and 1 child pass for 6895 airmiles. This was a great deal because they haven't changed the redemption amounts even though the exchange rate has gone up so much. I figured out I saved about $1200 on these tickets!

I found a ton of the $1 off Soft Soap coupons @ sdm just on a tear pad. I bought 16 more today part of my $100 shop.
So if you did the full 10x allowed you would buy 40 @ $100 - $40 coupons = $60 plus get 500 airmiles and if you used the spend $100 get 100 coupon you would get 60 miles for the soap so basically spend $60 get 560 airmiles. if you did the minimum airmiles cash value 560/95 = $58.95 airmiles cash
