I just went to Zellers to buy some of there weekend special sale items. I had 2 dove deoderant, 4 dove body wash, and 4 lever hand soaps, and I had 1 coupon for each item. The teller called the manager over as soon as he saw my coupons, and she informed me that I was only allowed to use 1 of each coupon per day. She said it is a brand new policy. Just wanted to let you guys know so you don't drive in to town and end up only buying 1 deoderant, 1 bodywash, and 1 soap, like I just did.

That's strange. I was at Zeller's this morning and used 2x coupons for almost all my items. The last time I was there they told me I could only price match 2 of the same item. So today I respected that and only took 2 of everything. I had no problems... had the nicest cashier in the world, in fact!

It sucks how they all seem to have their own rules.

My cashier was very nice too. I always try to use the same guy because he is very coupon friendly. He was more upset/embarressed by the situation than I was. I just shrugged and said "rules are rules". I even offered to put the extra items back on the shelf, but he said he would.

Just came from Zellers and bought 14 dove and had coupons for all so I guess they dont know about it in Ontario or your store is making policies up!

    Zellers coupon Policy

    Dear XXXXX

Thank you for your email inquiring about the Zellers coupon policy.

We would like to inform you that ?online? is the new medium for you to
obtain coupons, it is our position that we will accept these coupons in
our Zellers. All coupons must be validated for legitimacy before they
    are accepted for redemption.

The stores will accept the coupon if it meets the following criteria:

    1) The coupon has not expired.

    2) The coupon applies to the exact item being purchased (including size
illustrated, regardless of whether it's actually stated on the coupon).

    3) The coupon is valid for redemption in Canada (and not just valid for
    redemption in the USA).

    4) The clearing house address is a Canadian address and not American.

    5) The value of the coupon should never result in the customer receiving
the product for free or almost free.

Please note that most vendors generally handle free or almost free
scenarios with ?mail in rebates?. In this case, you need to purchase the
item and then render the rebate with your proof of purchase to obtain a
    cheque back from the vendor.

We would also like to inform you that certain vendors have declared that
they do no post any of their coupons on the internet. Consequently,
these vendors reserve the right to inform retailers that we should not
accept any internet coupons for redemption towards any of their products
    purchased in our stores.

The manufacturer generally states on the coupon how many can be use and
if the coupon can be combined with any other offers or promotions.

A coupon can be used for an item which is on sale. However, the coupon
will only be honoured if it does not result in giving the product for
    free.

Should you require further assistance please contact Zellers Customer
Service at 1-888-226-2225 Monday through Saturday 8am to Midnight,
    Sunday 10am to 9pm EST.

We appreciate your business and look forward to continue serving you at
    our Zellers stores.

    Regards,

    Kiran

Well that was a terrible coupon policy. So much room for error and peoples own interpretation for what it all means. I don't think it will help anything at all. Thanks for posting though.

I'd call head office. It sounds more like a manager's coupon policy than a store policy.

I shopped @WM today- I PM zellers flyer. I bought 5 soaps & 5 deoderant- after coupons $1 each. My walmart @ town center has never given me a problem.
they even PM top food flyer- which had dove shampoo & conditioner 335ml for $1.99- so I got for bottles for $0.99 each----- it was a good day

I avoid Zellers, Canadian Tire and some Rexall stores when it comes to using coupons. Way too much of a hassle. I'd rather just go to Walmart, for the most part they are much better with coupon usage.
