My new T-Shirt!!
What a crazy unexpected find at just $5.00 at Giant Tiger, and I was not even there to buy any clothing??
Also....so weird that there was only that one shirt left in that style...so can't argue with what was clearly meant to be.
ha ha

Been a while since I've updated anything new about Frankie. Yesterday ( the 20th ) was his 5th month rescue Anniversary date.
On Father's Day 2021 he was discovered laying on our front pathway and well.....he is still here.
I neglected to mention that DH does clip his wayward nails when they overgrow, we are fairly certain now he has both 1 kooky leg and 1 kooky wing. Neither of them appear to function properly, which for some reason makes his hop. hop hopping method of travel in the cage super cute.
Dh also gives him his kitchen sink bath once a week. I finally got to capture 2 pictures while he was in the sink....one is pretty blurry but I take what i can get these days from camera shy Frankie.
Enjoy!

Well bird lovers and anyone who has enjoyed the few pics I had previously posted of Frankie......it's time to reveal his NEW playhouse!
Setting it up has been a labour of love and took one purchase we will not speak of ( because it may lead to my DD staging a bird obsession intervention ), but also some lucky finds at Value Village and a Thrift store.
What matters is now Frankie has a place where I can carry him up to each day to hop around and explore whatever he likes. I still need to find a group of gnarly branches that I can place in the dead centre of the floor. Don't want it near any of the walls as that might encourage his escape plan!
So far what he likes to do is POOP on every pretty foam tile I've lovingly laid down. They're cute wee poops so no bother.
Too bad the foam letter set I snagged at V.V. had no letter " K " in it, so I improvised the spelling of his name to F-R-A-N-C-Y .
Birds can't read, he'll be none the wiser.
Enjoy the pics, I am still thrilled that he never even flinched when I placed him in the playhouse today, then turned on my digital camera.
He used to run around his small cage like a chicken with its head cut.......oops, sorry, bad analogy. He got way too upset whenever I tried to snap a pic, so I stopped for a long while.

Yay for Frankie!! (Although he has more open space to play in than I do!)
What a nice Mom! I’ve heard of crazy cat ladies but not bird ones so I won’t judge! And hey you’re old enough to know better than others as to what your child needs!
Can’t wait to see Frankie’s progress!Always remember the What are you thankful for today? thread as there always is something to be thankful for.

@Skippy as per your request here is the hilarious " homemade " double sided ladder I made for Frankie. i was at the Dollaramma the other day and saw a " kit " of wooden dowel styled sticks that when put together made a log cabin. Well Frankie has little use for a log cabin so with my glue gun heated up I made him this instead!
The instant I placed it in his cage he went right for it! He struggles still on certain rounded perches because of his lame leg, but gosh, he just kept going back up the rungs even after dropping off of the small top landing area more that 3 times in a row! What a trooper.

Yay for Frankie’s new toy! Very nicely done! Hope he gets much use out of it!
I shouldn’t look at pics before breakfast as I thought that was him perched on top of the ladder 🧐Always remember the What are you thankful for today? thread as there always is something to be thankful for.

hee hee, @Skippy that is some kind of a thing for him to peck at...I just forget if it is nutrient related or something for his beak?
@flemeth ty, Frankie STILL is kind of a little brat ya know? He hammers the floor of his cage until he loosens and then rips up a piece of paper towel from it, then runs all around and won't surrender the paper to me in his beak! I can't stop laughing at this exercise he does every day.

Hi @cath007 ! Yes, he is still in our care and as a matter of fact Frankie is celebrating his 1 year birthday tomorrow!!
We discovered him on Father's Day laying on the patio walkway out front. He sure was featherless and scary looking, but he cannot be released because after caring for him for this past year we discovered he has a lame leg/foot and he really doesn't fly too well either.
But....he is still our little roommate here driving our 2 cats crazy.

ty @flemeth , it's official...I am certifiably crazy! Just made this Birthday Cake for Frankie. Rolled a piece of banana in bird seed! I'll wait for DH to wake up and see it before I remove the sign and stick it in the cage.
