Just over the last couple of days I've started making some tutus for my girls and I've had some interest from friends looking to buy them but I needed some SCers opinions on what I should ask. I'm terrible at setting an asking price b/c I don't want people to think I am trying to overcharge them, lol.....but here's a pic and just to let you know my oop expense is roughly $9-$11 per skirt. Any input would be great!!!

    P.S - I was thinking between $20-$25

I think $20 is more than fair. I know I'd pay that, they are soooo cute!

You could look on etsy to see what their pricing is, that might help a bit. I know I've seen them on there quite a bit.

One of my friends made my DD one for her first birthday and honestly it was the gift everyone talked about. So cute!

Omg, LOL, I designed DD's first birthday outfit.
It was a leopard print leotard with pink trim and a pink crescent moon (since her name is Luna) and the skirt was JUST like that, only black , white and hotpink, lol.

Great tutu! Prices on Etsy are all over the place, anywhere from $7 to $100+!
A few that were similar to your design fell in the $20-$25 range. Good price range in my book.

that is so cute!!! I also think that $20 is fair, and that if you sell them online the buyer must pay the shipping.

If I were you I'd check Etsy and see the prices comparable ones sell for.

I would say do not sell for less than $15 though. When you take into labour, material, cost of getting material, shipping, etc. $15 is even a little too low (as an artist, I sell for 25% more than what it costs me to make things, but most do at least 50% higher than the cost to make them). I'd say $20 is a more than reasonable return on your product!

How long does it take you to make them? I think $25 is fair. If your expense is $11 on some, then you are only making $9 for your time and effort. And don't forget, your time isn't just the time it takes making one, but buying the fabric, etc. There's a lady who sells them in the town I live and they look much like yours, and she sells them for $25. I'm going to see if I can locate some more of her stuff and take another look.
