I was at CT in vancouver at 9:30 this morning & was too late to get any Charmin. When I asked an employee, he said there were about 400 people waiting at the front doors at 9am & that a poor woman got trampled!!!
I was in complete shock when he told me this & I felt so sad for her. I hope she is alright. I think this is the last time I will go to CT for a "door crasher" deal. This thread is currently associated with: Canadian Tire

Something similar happened in a Wal*Mart in the US a couple of years ago on Black Friday.
IIRC, the doors opened and the hoards rushed though knocking down a greeter and trampling him to death.
Some people have very strange priorities.

I have no doubt that there were people waiting for the doors to open but I sincerely doubt there were 400 people there. I think the guy was exaggerating but even so if someone was injured trying to get into Canadian Tire then that's just crazy.
I also was a Canadian Tire 30 minutes after it opened and all the Charmin was gone.
I never have any luck with Canadian Tire it seems.RLF Honey Bunches of Oats $1.00

I have never gone to a door crasher deal...and this is exactly why. Why on earth would I want to run with a hoard of people only to wind up having my face stuffed in someone elses armpit whilst attempting to get cheap toilet paper. Um. I will pass. Cheap toilet paper isnt worth it if you have to spend the next six months with someone else wiping your bum due to the injuries sustained being trampled attempting to get said Charmin. I got Cottonelle cheap the other day...I will wait for a slightly less dangerous deal for my next toilet paper run.

That's nuts.
There wasn't even a Canadian flyer in my newspaper on Thursday or Friday, as there always was before. I think someone stole it from my mailbox. Canadian Tire refused to give me a scratch card when I went and asked....they said "Contact your newspaper supplier." Thanks Canadian Tire, for nothing.
