I find it interesting that all of these articles seem to be black and white about couponing leading to purchasing items you don't need. I am very practical about whether or not we will use the items I collect coupons for, as I am sure most people are. There is no savings in spending even just the tax to obtain something my family won't use, and I completely get that... My "hobby" has saved us over $1200 since May, and I have not purchased even one item with coupons that we do not actually use.

It would be nice if they had more episodes with normal coupon use ..there was 1 last year where the lady only spent about $200 before taxes and then reduced with her cp..that was actually a good episode..put a positive spin on couponning...

Hmmm, things have sure changed. I have been using coupons for over 20 years and I can honestly say I have never, ever, ever bought anything that I would not use. I do donate a lot to our homeless shelter, but that is my choice. My grocery bills are down by 75% over the normal 2 person family nowadays(I wouldn't really know my normal grocery bill without coupons as I havent had one in so long). I have enough of everything on hand to last me 6 months or so and nothing is wasted. I really hate the negative spin being put on coupons.
We all need a little sunshine every now and then

"if you don't like using coupons, you haven't been broken enough"
Great quote!

I love to shop online using coupons. But avoid impulse shopping too. Sometimes coupons cause impulse purchases and increase shopping costs. However coupon selection and proper shopping planning really add savings.
