I have seen it mentioned before that some Wal-Marts have their items priced Thursday evening for the sale that starts Friday. I am just wondering if your WM does this and if you know if this is common? Basically, I want to try going in this evening around 8:30 to see if I can snag a few of the deals that start tomorrow because I don't think I can make it tomorrow morning before things are sold out. I have to pay for a bus to get there so I would be taking a chance that things are already priced. What do you think my chances are of having most of the sale items posted around 8:30?

I haven't seen the items for a sale starting Friday being priced as of Thursday. I have seen the stock get moved into place, but the regular price is listed.

The one I go to does not. Sometimes, items have the advertised price a week before it's advertised. I find if it's not already at the Friday price, they won't change it until after the store closes on Thursday.

I was at my Walmart last Friday and alot of the prices on the shelves were not sale prices. OOPS Rollback prices. Lol They did come up at the till as the sale prices.

some of the prices in their flyers are done through actual markdowns taken in their handheld computers so you will see these price changes reflected before a flyer. remember that WM doesn't usually have 'sales' so temporary price changes aren't always reflected on the shelf price but shown through signage and the markdown captured at the register.
many of the items in the anniversary tab are temporary so the ad needs to be 'turned on' to have the lower price show up at the register. The anniversary tab is 'turned on' the day the ad starts.
so, chances are the really great buys (like secrect d.o. last week) will only start on friday
