With this one last trip, I got all I needed for my Christmas baskets (needed some men's stuff mainly).
Dove Men+ Care bar soap 2x $2.87 = 5.74
Gillette Sensor 3 disposable men's razors 6x $3.77 = 22.62- 1x $5 WUB 3 gillette, 3x $2 any gillette 3 bladed disposable = 11.62 (1.93 each)
Motrin tablets (50s) 2x $5.62 = 11.24 - 2x $5 = 1.62 (.81 each)
Dove go fresh bar soap 2x 2.87 = 5.74 - 2x $1 = 3.74 (1.87 each)
Crest Pro Health 1x 2.96 = 2.96 - FPC (from dentist's office) = free
Total before coupons = $48.30
Total after coupons = $22.72
combined with what I already have in my stash, plus bags of Allan Saybon candy I found at the dollar store today , all my men's Christmas baskets are done
This almost makes up for the fact that I missed out on free Multibionta at Rexall (mine was sold out of the 30 count).

I make women's and men's baskets at Christmas mostly for family (and one or two for service people like my hairdresser). If there's anything left over by the time everything's wrapped and under the tree, it goes to the women's shelter (I tend to have more women's stuff left over like pads and deodorant). I get the baskets themselves at dollar stores (plastic ones), plus the cellophane and ribbons. In terms of what I put in them, here's a breakdown:
Men's:
- bodywash
- anti-perspirant
- toothbrush
- toothpaste
- listerine
- disposable razors
- soap
- candy/chocolate
- pain reliever
- shampoo/conditioner
if I find a good deal on shaving cream between now and when I wrap everything, I'll throw that in too (can't believe I forgot about the shaving cream ^^; ) Since the men's ones are smaller than the women's, we'll throw in a $10 giftcard as well.
Women's:
- book
- candy/chocolate
- gum
- bodywash
- anti perspirant
- Venus razor
- shaving cream
- glysomed hand cream
- moisturizer
- soap
- St. Ives facial scrub
- toothbrush
- toothpaste
- listerine
- pads
- softlips lip gloss
- shampoo/conditioner
- pain reliever
Most of what's in either basket doesn't cost much since what I do spend is after coupons and spread out over the course of the whole year. This year I've made up 8 baskets so far (4 men, 4 women), and each basket is the only gift for each person so compared to what we used to spend on all those people combined, the overall cost is much much better ^^;
The toothpaste I get for free from FPCs from the dentist's office, the toothbrushes cost me about $1, but I know lots of posters that do get toothbrushes for free as well. The listerine was about .37 each after coupons (Listerine Zero 250 mL), the softlips were all free from price matching plus the $2 coupons from earlier in the year. The pain reliever is what ever I can get for free depending on the sale plus coupons (aspirin, motrin, tylenol etc.). The candy/chocolate/gum is whatever I can score from FPCs/freebies, or from the dollar store for cheap. The books for the women's baskets I get for free from publishers since I review them. The soap and bodywash and the rest of the stuff is under $2 each with coupons, unless its a really good deal plus coupons and then I can get it for under $1 each, so this part does require some money spent, but I space it out over the whole year so I barely notice.

I try to stock-up on gift packs just around boxing day or after then..
They last the year and make friends very happy at weddings and baby showers and who are in the hospital etc; Plus who can beat spending under $5 for awesome wedding gifts. (Compared at the usual $50-$100 people usually spend.)
Great brag!

Yeah, I need to make more of an effort this year to hunt down the cheap gift sets after Christmas; I got the Bic Soleil Bella ones with the iTunes gift card mail-in last year and they supplied all the razors for my women's baskets for this year (and I got the benefit of lots of music off iTunes
). Hopefully I'll be able to snag some more good deals like that this year.
