This sounds great. But I will wait for someone here to try it out first too. Some stores are slow to follow suit. Heck even each Wal-mart seems to have its own set of rules even though all stores are suppose to be the same. I hope the overages will be allowed.

Sobeys has an official policy that states that they accept ALL internet printed coupons. I wrote head office about my local Sobeys telling me that they didn't and head office contacted the store manager to correct them.

I am a cashier at Sobeys in south western ontario. we do not allow printed coupons. i will double check though when i go in on Monday to see if there is a new policy.
we have to circle the expiry date, write our store number and cashier number on every coupon. that way, if there is a problem, they know which cashier took a particular coupon. with doing all that to each coupon, we still have to remember to take it off the customers order.
i have to say, as a customer, i love coupons...as a cashier, they are terrible to deal with. it would be so much easier if coupons all had to be in the same layout with the expiry date in the exact same spot on each coupon...i'm sure all cashiers out there know what i mean.

i guess it would be easier if all the stores did coupons like hte US where the cashier just has to scan the coupon and if it goes thru then its fine and if it doesnt then too bad. it would make it alot easier for everyone as there would never be any more csm fights or issues with certain products not working or whatever excuse a cashier / csm / manager can throw at you to deny the coupon

Woooohoooo! can you say coupongazim?... i was talking to a sobeys empolyee here the other day and it seems management is somewhat against coupons... don't worry i will convert him! *big hug smiles... thank you so much i will be printing off a copy of that policy and making sure it is put into place here... i start with one item so it doesn't waste my time and it is easy to walk away and phone corperate... when your doing this please remember to be extra nice the staff is doing their job and trying to do things correctly so they don't get in trouble. If you mean to them even if you are right they will remember how you reacted to them and it could effect your future transactions.... this is new to them so bring your spoon fulla sugar to help this medicine go down! *is sooooOOooOOooOOOo repping thumbs upping and sending big ole E-hugs for this info!!!!
