I'm happy that none of the locations here in Hamilton are moving to 24 hours. There are 4 for a city of over 500,000. Not sure if City Council said no or what other reasons there are for them not opening here. I refuse to use Walmart at all so it really won't have any impact on my family.

Y A A A A Y!!!!!!! 24-hr shopping!!! 'Bout time too! Should be all the time and not only at Xmas. I too wish transit would run 24 hr so I could go whenever I wanted.
People need jobs - let them work! Usually no one is 'forced' to work the graveyard shift and usually they get a bonus. Jobs for people - yaay!!!!
Graveyard=cancer???? In my lifetime news flashes were: milk causes cancer, smoking causes cancer, second-hand smoke causes cancer, burning wood causes cancer........etc. etc. etc..... My theory in case you are interested....someone who is genetically prone to cancer might get cancer from....say..having a bath. That same person or anyone for that matter could also walk across the street and get hit by a car.......so maybe they should quit crossing the street! JMO!!

Some revealing statistics are showing that those who work grave shifts have higher rates of breast cancer for women and prostate cancer for men. I'd probably attribute that to, like someone else here said, factors like poor diet, no exercise and other things that go in hand with overall poor lifestyle choices: limited to, IMO, diet and fitness.
milk causes cancer,
smoking causes cancer, second-hand smoke causes cancer,
You're right, pretty much everything has the potential to be carcinogenic. The dose is what makes the poison, however. A little things in moderation, including pesticides (my downfall and a cause of great concern), can do you a lot of good -- through the constant wearing down and building up of our bodies we are able, if it doesn't kill us outright, to slowly rebuild, repair and adapt.

I might take advantage of this.
If know Willy will because he finishes work at 1-2 am so this is handy for him. At least you will know there will be no screaming kids (I hope not anyway) at that time.

Like I was saying, Wal-Mart has people working 24 hours a day whether they are open or not. There has to be people stocking shelves in the middle of the night, they don't stock themselves.

It's like that in alot of places, grocery stores, 24 hr Shopper's Drug marts ect. You're right Kate, the shelves don't stock themselves and somebody's gotta do it. When people apply for jobs like these, they are told beforehand of different shifts like these which give the applicant a heads up as to wheather or not they would like that job.
