I agree with posters above.
My walmart lets me, but they do the whole "just this time..." it can be really annoying.
I would just give it a try.Wanna get paid giftcards and Paypal cash? Join Swagbucks right now!

I don't think they should allow it. At the Walmart where I sometimes shop it is common place for people to go in grab some merchadise put it in a Walmart bag take it to customer service and ask for a refund, claiming they "lost their receipt". Nice.
SO if they are relectant to do it now you know why.

I have never had an issue. Although at the walmarts here, you always have to show photo ID. They just look at it, don't record it anywhere.

If your walmarts make a customer record after id is presented, it won't be a big problem. After a certain amount of returns without receipts in a period of time, those customers are blacklisted from returning stuff. I think the people who randomly grab stuff off the shelves would have a hard time explaining why their item triggers the security alarm if the csr does the check.

Here they allow 4 without a receipt per year.. you do have to provide something with name and address on it.. that makes total sense to me.. I'm not sure what they'd do with an exchange.
Be sure to click like and post a brag if you get the deal.. It makes my day!!! Flattery may just get you more deals
Be sure to double check your flyer, points and cashback offers~ YMMV

I have a question...
If a family member gives you an item to return to Walmart with a receipt, and they paid for the item on debit, will the clerk give you cash or a gift card? I'm wondering since the original purchase was payed by debit (bank card) and that person can't be there with you to return the item.

Walmart in Red Deer is very good about returns without receipts. They have never asked me for any type of ID. they just ask for a signature and have always just given me the price amout of the item on a walmart gift card. no questions asked. Have the best return policy.

I've returned things there in the past without a receipt and much fight, I think once I had to go get the same item off the shelf for them as proof, but they put it through and gave me cash. I think they've got the most lenient return policy, I've worked a few retail stores and we had to be very strict on what we accepted for returns.

you're just doing a straight exchange - there shouldn't be any issues. Sometimes I've had to show ID and sometimes not, but I've never ever had them say 'just this one time' on a straight exchange.

DH bought me a laptop at WM a few years ago as a gift, it was a POS. When I returned it with the receipt, the cashier asked if I had the Visa with me that it was purchased with, since DH and I have our own Visa cards, I told her no, but I have another one. No problems at all, she said with a receipt they have to refund the same way as it was purchased.

I haven't had any issues but I always have to show ID with no reciept. I have taken back diapers and clothes (my kids grew out of, tags still on or unopened).
