From what I looked at from $1 fares last day is December 5 and you would have book before November 14 to get $1 fare. There are $1 fares Calgary to Red Deer and Edmonton to Red Deer and $1 return fares. You have book today November 6 for November 27 until December 5 and book November 7 for November 28 until December 5 and so on.Book online only. There are still other cheap Greyhound Greyhound Express routes available and I figure the same three week advance rule booking applies.

That is a amazing deal! Calgary to fort mac normally costs around 170 each. That would be a great time for a visit. You save enough on bus fair to pay for a hotel for a couple nights.

The bus line prob had a hard time recovering after the incident where one passenger cut another passengers head off. That and flying is cheap.

Really? You must not fly within Canada very often. I travel regularly between Calgary and Regina (770km one way by road; 1 hour by plane). If I have to travel on short notice and get stuck paying full fare, it's over $1100 by the time taxes and fees are added in. That's about $550 per hour of actual flying time! And we're talking Westjet, here, not Emirates, FFS. Even with plenty of advance booking time I still end up paying over $500 return.

Thanks for posting this! I don't know how you found out about it but it must be a very well-kept secret, because there are still tons of the $1 fares available as of today for early December. Anyway I think I'll take a couple of cheap trips in December to Edmonton and Lethbridge just to try it out.
Greyhound really needed to do something better as I'm sure they were getting the crud kicked out of them by Red Arrow Express, which has been operating luxury coach service along the Calgary-Red Deer-Edmonton-FortMac route for about 25 years now (and I believe they're adding Lethbridge soon) and charges only a few bucks more than Greyhound was demanding for an unhappy ride on one of their rolling garbage scows.
