Thread: US Shopping Questions!
-
Thu, Nov 3rd, 2011, 09:43 AM #1
Good morning,
I am planning a trip to Buffalo in a couple of weeks to do some Christmas shopping and my husband brought up the idea of maybe doing some couponing while we were there. I'm a little skeptical, not sure where I would even begin.
Anyone been before or can direct me to some sites I may be able to find some coupons or policies.
Thanks. This thread is currently associated with: N/A

When I am in Texas in the winter, I use couponmom.com, it's a great site, similar to this in a way, with matchups for stores along with the price you will pay, printable coupons listed and so on. Also has excellent tips. You can alos print coupons off of smartsource.com Check online to see if any of the stores in the area you are going do coupon stacking, if so, perhaps you could hit those stores if you have some stackables, or if any of the stores double the coupons, if so up to what value. Hope this helps you out.

I texted my sister for you. She's in Nashville. She says Publix (grocery store), CVS and Walgreens are where the best deals are found. She's a pretty heavy couponer. She says she likes Target a lot but doesn't find much there for deals with coupons. Their sales start on odd days .... I think it might be Wednesdays. Good luck.

I'm heading to the US on Saturday and I seem to remember someone posting about a magazine with coupons at Walmart. It was something like: about me or all about me. Anyone know what I'm talking about???

Couponing in the US is much better than in Canada IMO. The stores there are set up so you can just scan the coupon in and automatically deducts the coupon value. Also printables are much easier to use as each coupon you print out has a unique pin so it prevents basic customer abuse by photocopying/pdf'ing so it cuts down on fraud for the manufacturers.
Also a lot of stores double coupon values up to $1, so a $.50 coupon is essentially worth $1. All that's required is that you sign up for that stores "Shoppers Club" card which should only take a few minutes.
Just this past week I was over and Niagara Falls and got some Colgate Wisp 4 packs for free, and some bottles of tabasco sauce for free from the doubled coupons I printed out before leaving.
