    1. I was planning to go to SDM to pick up some stuff to top up my points, I was also planning to buy a SDM GC so I have it ready for Mega Redemption day.
I of course will be paying with and SDM GC for my items, will I have to do a separate transaction to buy the SDM GC with a credit card? Is it better to do a separate transaction for the GC?

    2. Are the Ritter sport chocolate still on sale at SDM?

3.For Ontario is there tax on diapers?

    4. I am planning on stocking up on Diapers and Tide at the Mega Redemption, is this something I will have to worry that might get cleared out before I get there around noon?

    5. If I decide to redeem for makeup or perfume, can I return it later, if I don't react well to the makeup, or if I leave the perfume unopened because I found a better deal elsewhere.

    6. Last question, would you redeem your points for an item at SDM even though you know you can get it cheaper elsewhere? Like if I don't find stock of the diapers that are on sale should I get other diapers that are not on sale. Or any other item.
    Thanks

I can't answer all your questions, but if you plan to ONLY purchase your GC with your credit card (ie. you plan to purchase all other items with a GC) then yes, you will need to do a separate transaction.

I bought diapers tonight in Ontario and there was tax.

I will most likely pick up a few items that will be higher priced at SDM than other stores but since they are items I don't buy on a regular basis and will be FREE on redemption then I am willing to "pay" a bit more for them.

Ugh- yea, there's tax on diapers. I would pay a little more for them, but not much. Just got cases on sale at RCSS for 50% off, so that's one thing off my redemption list.

The makeup, when I went to the store today I was told it could be exchanged, as I was not sure if the color would match my skin tone in natural light. She advised I could exchange it, and if I have an issue to talk to the beauty manager.

#6 - I'm really struggling with this - I expect to pay more - but in reality, if its more than 20-25% more than I would pay somewhere else, then I won't buy it, even if "free". Partly because I feel like I'm wasting the Mega part of the redemption, and I'm wasting "free" $ that is available to me. This is why I also only shop during points promos, and still only buy things that are reasonably priced that I would normally buy elsewhere.

We bought generic allergy meds today at walmart - $21ish for 72 pills. The same meds at shoppers today (generic) were $26.99 for 48 pills. That was quickly taken off the list for redemption day shopping - I just can't justify paying that much more for them, even if they are "free".

Just to add to what I said earlier about tax on diapers... I looked on my receipt now. I bought 3 x 7.99 diapers - 2.00 coupons = 5.99 each after coupons. I paid 1.20 in tax. So that gives you an idea of how much tax they charge on them.

In Ontario tax should be 5% on baby items. I bought baby wipes and was charged 5%.
