I deleted my bad experience because I have to agree with Mommy Didee in her post below.
I have spoken with the Store Owner at the Mount Pearl location, and the trouble with coupons at this store is clearly a problem with individual employees and not store policy. The Store Owner is very nice and understanding is actually somewhat of a couponer himself! This thread is currently associated with: Pharmaprix, Shoppers Drug MartLast edited by Kyah; Tue, Dec 6th, 2011 at 09:37 AM.

call there managment or there head office and tell them what happened. If you do that tell them that you belong to a country wide coupon site and will post about what happened to you to let fellow shoppers know of the bad service you receved at the local that might make themwake up and smell the coffee that couponers are not criminals. They should also be happy to have couponers in there stores becouse we spend money along with coupons.

Shoppers mount pearl is by far the worst place i've used coupons. They will only take coupons with the P.O. Box 3000 address even though they have coupons in their store with different address to redeem. So in other words, they don't accept coupons they have in their own store. I had that argument with a clerk there & she told me to go somewhere else to use them cause they don't accept them..
Some of these Clerks have major attitude when it comes to couponers.. like it's a crime to save money.

I usually don't have a problem using coupons at the Mt. Pearl location. At least not until the other day. They had their Listerine on for $4.99 and they had the tear pads sitting on the shelf next to them for $5 off. They wouldn't take the coupon b/c it was for a penny more than that sale price. I thought they usually adjusted the coupon, but I guess not. I told them that I'd just go to Walmart to buy it and get the overage, thanks.
I definitely get the cashier attitude thing. They take forever to look over a coupon, even when it's a coupon on their shelf and they make it seem like a chore to enter the coupon code into the system. Especially, for some reason, since they got the new system in a few weeks ago. There is one supervisor with short dark hair and glasses I find particularly rude.

That Supervisor is exactly who I am complaining about.

Yesterday, for Mega Redemption day, I shopped at this location; I used coupons at the cash with no difficulty and did not feel uncomfortable. I understand your frustration and encourage you to telephone the toll free number to issue a complaint.
In addition, another fellower couponer has written that he or she was unable to redeem the $5.00 coupon for the Listerine on special for $4.99. I also encourage that couponer to telephone the toll free number and ask for clarification pertaining to this issue. The agent will then telephone the store to ensure the location is aware of the Shopper's Drug Mart coupon policy.
I am in the process of writing another list for my second redemption today; I will use coupons to lower my out of pocket cost.
Good luck and never feel uncomfortable when using your coupons in any store. I highly encourage it!

For my second Mega Redemption, I decided to shop at the LeMarchant Road location. Again, I used my coupons along with my points and had no difficulty at the cash. In fact, I found the employees at this location to be extremely helpful and polite; I will definitely shop there again.
Once again, I am sorry to hear about the bad experiences that some people have encountered. I guess the shopping experience, whether positive or negative, is dependent upon the store employees working that day and/or the cashier at the time of purchase.

Thank you for either calling the toll free number customer line for assistance or calling the store owner directly Kyah!! I was delighted to read your updated posting and applaud you for deleting your previous comments, especially when the issue has been resolved to your satisfaction.
As indicated in an earlier post, many of the problems are caused by individual employees. When a problem does occur, an individual should seek out assistance via the toll free customer service line; the agents are professional and are trained to assist the customer. Often times, the agent will telephone the store owner or manager and inform him or her of the Franchise Store Policy and/or problematic situation. The individual may also receive a direct telephone call from the store owner or store manager.
Once again, I commend you for having the courage to telephone and voice your complaint.
