Thread: Christmas Trees for Seniors
-

I work at a Fresh Co. in Burlington and we have a seniors Christmas Tree.
Basically, grocery stores across Burlington (not just Fresh Co.) are given a tree with hundreds of tags on them. The tags have a Senior in the communities name and an item on their Christmas list. The Seniors are all at a home of some kind and do not have a family to buy them presents.
The point is to take the tag off a tree and buy the present for them. At every location they have handouts with the address your supposed to return them too.
Every year my family does a couple as I no longer have grandparents of my own. Most of the gifts are inexpensive (someone asked for a laptop this year?). Mostly perfumes, mittens, sweaters, books, stuffed animals, ect.
Its a pretty cool organization, hopefully I've convinced a few of you! This thread is currently associated with: FreshCo

if you google "Santa For Seniors" and put in your postal code, itll give you a list of stores closest to you that are participating
lilo the shoppers on new street, in the portion that sells the mobility aids has a tree there which might be closer to you.
I wanted to participate but am scared to grab the tag with a laptop and make myself broke, but if I found someone who wanted a few small items that would make their Christmas better I would definitely participate, but the 1 person who wants the laptop I cannot afford personally as I can't even get my own laptop! But maybe grabbing one of these before Mega Redemption and including a few items for your senior might be a good idea!

I'd love to do this program- the website tells me there is nothing in my postal code though- anyone know of a tree in Grimsby, or Hamilton/Stoney Creek?
