Reorganizing coupon nightmare! Help please!

Ok i have to redo my binder! When is started SC i went from one ziploc bag to a binder quickly... i had page protector sheets on hand and for the most part it has worked ... it is organized A-Z with h&b and A-Z groceries... but now... it has a problem or 3...

one... there are too many coupons for it

two... i am not sure how i am going to organize my stacking coupons (there are just some items you have to stack to get free)... problem

three... i just have lots of types of coupons atm so if they get mixed up it is a pain

Here is what i have to organize right now and i have a budget of ZERO ZIP NOTTA to fix this.

I have 2 used file cabinets just given to me... hurray for room mate that is really appreciating the free stuff

I have A-Z back ups page protectors for extra coupons

and of course i have my binder.

What i really need is to know how many of each coupon should i keep in my binder?

How can i keep my stackables separate and organized (paper clips still get other coupons in them because they are loose in that A-Z

I used the page protectors because it used what i had on hand at the time and the whole reason for couponing is to save money not to spend. However things can get mixed up... fall out and be a general pain and the book is thick and heavy.

I am trying to figure out a way to keep the ready to expire coupons accessible. Perhaps in the one front page protector i keep empty....
Any ideas or suggestions would really be appreciated. (* hoping that all made sense ...trying to fix this has given me a big ole headache)

Some friends and I, have been really inventive with staples and a vaccuum pack sealer. Making pockets to fit our coupons from the full page protectors. The hockey card sleeves are great but most coupons dont fit in them so we opted to make our own sizes.

I don't really have any advice since my system is sorely lacking. I have 2 binders one for food and one for everything else organized by expiry date. I also have 2 shoe boxes full of tear pad coupons one for 2011 and one for 2012. Then I have 2 purse sized folders with multiple compartments that I keep with me. One is for London Drugs stacked coupons and the other one for coupons that I'm going to use soon at other stores and it's also for coupons that are expire soon. That isn't working right now because there are far too many coupons expiring in December. Then lastly I have another small box where I keep stackable coupons that are not complete yet.

My binder has become more of a display of all my coupons, and I use two small accordian files (from the dollar store) to keep most of my coupons in. Within that, I keep stackables paper clipped together. So one in the binder, the rest in the folder. If there is only one stack of that item, it is displayed in my binder.

For coupons that are expiring right away, I keep them clipped in the front of my binder

As well, I use a color coded system of sticky notes to mark expiries.

Wow a accordian file is a great idea for the stackables. Thank you so much for showing me your system! That is something that i can do that will work for me. I am afraid this time i will have to invest some $ lol. But when i consider how much my investment of s $7 five star binder has saved me i can make it work... bit by bit if needed. OMgosh i might be able to stop telling the coupons in my binder to stay put. Time for the hockey card sheets too. Thank you so much BC Gal!

You're welcome :) Since those pics were taken, I actually have three accordian folders; one for food, one for everything else, and one for the coupons on my tradelist. I have three different types of sheets for my binder as well; the plastic sheets, baseball card holders, and business card holders from Walmart. They are the perfect size for the websaver & save.ca coupons. With so many different coupons and varying expiries, I for one need the organization!
