A brag - 3 years in the making.
Hi all,
I don't really post in this section as I am only shopping for myself and occasionally my brother and some friends. So, buying one or two things usually doesn't qualify.
But today is my 3 year anniversary on Smartcanucks, so thought why not?
I've always been frugal and a bit of a stockpiler of sale items, but when I stumbled upon SC, it was a definite match! :sweet:
I also love to cook (hence the username) and don't eat all that much processed food, so didn't think I would use coupons that much. But I was proven wrong.
Here are some of the hightlights from this year (and most NOT from stacking)
Free yogurt and becel margarine for the past 6 months. I have enough coupons right now for free yogurt until mid-March next year.
Many free bananas.
Quite a few free salads
Free Minute rice
Very cheap Ristorante pizza - yummy spinach ($2.00 coupons & sales)
Free or less than $0.25 Renee's Salad dressing and Newman's salad dressing
Free Newman's pasta sauce
Some $1.50 or less Ground Beef
I haven't paid more than $1.00 for bread through FPC, stacking, discounts etc.
Some almost free Vim & Resolve & chocolate (taxes only)
Many, many deals at RCSS combining MF & CZ (and lucky for me 10% discount through a relative).
And I have to mention the oldies but goodies. As we all know we can no longer stack P & G, but it seems there used to be so many other coupons we could stack. Also, many products are no longer available at LD. Boy, I miss those days. As an example:
FREE
Clover leaf flavoured tuna, Clover leaf white tuna, Tetley Iced tea, VH sauces, Canned clams, Carnation Evaporated Milk, Tabasco sauce, Knorr soup/broth, yogurt, Catelli pasta, Haagen Dasz ice cream
Just the taxes
Swiffer sweeper, wetjet, refills; Mr. Clean, Clorox bleach, Tide, Biore, Cottenelle TP, Febreeze, Glade, Cascades, Dawn, Greenwork's products, Men's & Women's razors, shaving cream; Hair dyes, Olay products, Dove & Brookside chocolate, Extra gum
And one of my favorites from the past - free Europes' Best Fruit/veg using the $2.00 coupon on B1G1 at Safeway and the clear out of stock at RCSS. Oh and I haven't paid for Olive oil for the past 2 years.
I have also participated in many promotions such as Glade, Stouffer's, icoke, Quaker etc, which I never would have know about without the wisdom of Smartcanucks. And of course, all the freebies, too numerous to mention. And I even won quite a few contests - need to get back into that as I have been slacking.
And last, but not least, my biggest brag. I saw a post early this year about cooking from your stockpile. So I adopted this and am proud to say that I have not spent more than $20 (on average) a week for groceries this year.
This would not have been possible without all the wonderful trades I have had over the years, the trains I have been on and the fun local coupon meets, and all the posts about deals and maximizing our saviings.
So, thank you to each and every one of you. It's been a blast!!
