I just looked on Zellers Facebook page today and I can't find the 50% off coupon anywhere, but I remember it says can be combined with flyer deals so I don't think they can bait and switch customers by randomly changing the rules mid-promotion. They had to have known what they were doing when they distributed the coupon

My husband and I went yesterday and they wouldn't let each of us use a coupon, we were told that the coupon was one per family even though the coupon says one per customer.
Most of the Zellers are going out of business. They should just be lucky people are even going to their stores with all the crappy customer service.

I am going in with a friend and shopping this weekend... she just needs a girls day and has been going thru a rough time. I am sure it will be fun... they may need to call a manager but that is OK! The staff sometimes gets in trouble for coupons so they are just protecting their jobs. As soon as you say can you please check with management it takes the burden off their shoulders.

it has nothing to do with customer service at store level... these rule changes come from much higher up.. it's not like the cashiers are making stuff up as they go along (most of them, anyway), they know they're going to get dumped on when they tell customers about the changes.. i suggest giving them a break because they're only doing as they're told.. save your complaining for the fb page, as screamy suggested.. i feel sorry for all the cashiers that are going to get yelled at today...

That's not cool at all.
You don't change a promotion mid-way without pissing off your customers.
I'll bet for all the sales they're doing, they're still making a ton of money over this, 50% off or not.

Just called yes its only on reg priced items and even if the item is on sale and you ask to pay reg price they won't alter the price. It also read one per person (not one per day).

I was just telling my husband about the sudden change in Zellers. Even he can see an arguement in his future lol. The only thing I really wanted on special was the pans that are on sale starting Friday. I can't wait to try to price match as well. The workers in my Zellers are all pretty much slugs with the iq of stick
