    I think Zellers is likely loosing money on it, or not making enough profit to cover their overhead expenses, because of the number of times people are using the coupon. It sucks that they are retracting it now, that is rather unfair, but social media can be a strong thing, so posting on their Facebook page might help.

    It's probably unlikely that most shoppers have used the coupon only once. I've used it three times myself (on Pampers Easy Ups - not for a massive savings but there isn't much that we need). If Zellers had found a way to make the coupon harder to use multiple times then this may not have happened - that is their own fault and I do think they should honour it.

    I updated the OP to reflect the Retraction Notice.

    And as I stated earlier, I did not create the PDF. It is simply the link provided by Zellers on Facebook. Even if I remove the attachment (which I only included to save SCers + others a step), the direct link still leads to the coupon.

    Why is it suddenly only on regular priced items?? The coupon clearly says "Offer CAN be combined with our great flyer DEALS!" and "until Saturday Dec 31st". They shouldn't change it. This is absolutely misleading, and they should still honour it!

    What kind of company does this?

    I'm disappointed, this so very typical of Zellers... now managers are making up rules about coupons. Blehhh Customer service is not their priority.

    Gaah. I was just there last night and was able to get the discount on sale items. I was planning on buying a KA Stand mixer (PM-ing to Canadian Tire) and using the coupon. Does anyone know if the correction posted in stores says you can't PM now either? Hope they didn't retract that as well!

    They have no proof when you printed the coupon. You could printed your coupon out days ago before they pulled it from facebook.

    i agree, the cashiers are only doing what they're told and I also feel bad for any who get dumped on today. I was so sad when i got to the cash with my purchase and she told me of the change; i still got my original purchase and got something else using the 50% coupon. anywho, i'll toss in my two cents on the fb page since that's where the promo originated anyway i'm sure they'll read it knowing the far reach of social media.

    I cannot believe they would make the coupon only available on regular priced items! The coupon clearly states that it can be used with flyer deals. Its great for those of you that picked up your product earlier, sucks for me. Was thinking about getting a Tassimo, but thought too long Another reason I wont miss Zellers when Target takes over.

    the smarter thing to do would have been to mail out one 50% coupon to each hbc credit card and/or hbc rewards card holder, or have a fb coupon giveaway... but it takes normal people to come up with those ideas.. those idiots that run head office have no clue what's going on in the real world

    That's so cheap and incredibly ridiculous. No wonder why they are going out of business, for it seems that their number one criteria of operations is to screw the customer...it's such bad move, and I hope they get a lot of complaints. What a failure as far as business ethics is concerned!

    If nothing else, this just substantiates why Zellers is the last place I choose to shop.

    coupon says 1 per customer, what kind of customer uses it multiple times?

    they should have stuck with the coupon till 31st and fired the guy who approved the coupon, end of story.

    Called all my local Zellers and they all said only valid on regular priced items.

    Can understand why they are changing the rules, but still disappointed!!
