The stores issued a "Correction Notice" saying that the online coupon was an incorrect misprint, error, typo, etc, and was meant to say 'regular-priced' items.

    This is fishy...

agreed. it's a very good promo and just needed a bit more thought on how many they were expecting to be redeemed...limiting to one per person from the get go might have stretched this promo to the end. i believe that store flyers are sent to printers months in advance but it is boxing week...they knew the type of sales they'd be having and couldn't have thought we'd buy garbage bags and soap.

what wording 1 per customer? that sounds fair to me.
Think everyone who used it multiple times ruined it for those who didn't use it yet?

I agree, the poor cashiers are certainly not the ones implementing policies...and they should not get crapped on for it. I intend to go check out at the CS desk so I can deal with a manager right away instead.

It's so unfortunate - they really didn't plan this well. The cashiers are going to take a lot of unwarranted abuse about it, and it's not their fault.

I just did, and got through in about 10 seconds (which, I will admit, surprised me).
The guy I spoke to said he had already heard from multiple people complaining about the change to the coupon

    Flood 'em with your complaints!

I'm pretty sure someone's been called to the "principal's office" over this one!

That's too bad it can't be used on sale prices anymore. I was going to drive out to one last night so my sister could get the kitchenware that's on sale but the roads were so bad I decided not to.

But I'm pretty sure the hair dryer I want isn't on sale. I can't believe I'm excited about the item I want NOT being on sale!

Now to tell her to find something else to use it on.

    Borrowed from Zellers facebook page:
    Zellers

Hi everyone, there have been a lot of comments and questions about the 50% off coupon. To clarify: yes - we are still accepting the coupon until the 31st. However, we are no longer distributing this last week's coupon as it was only available via Facebook on the 26 and 27th to celebrate our in store boxing days.
Additionally, Zellers has now issued a correction notice for this week’s Facebook coupon. The Correction Notice reads: "The offer shown online is incorrect. It should have stated: only regular priced items instead of "CAN be combined with our great flyer deals!"
    Limit 1 coupon per customer.
