Has anyone used the coupon on a sale item today?

I bought a Vacuum on Boxing day. It was not on sale and I was given by this store a coupon for 50% off. So basically they put $50.00 in my pocket. I cannot believe the hateful comments because a specific deal is no longer available. Whats up with that? It was a great offer and it's over. Easy come easy go. By the way my new vacuum picked up every last needle from the Christmas tree and my rug is super duper clean.

Hoping to get to Zellers tonight... really need a new bookcase for my kiddos - they have double the number of books that would fit in their current one! Maybe I'll find a nice one to use the coupon on....

If they get enough complaints .....they will take notice, but not likely to change anything anyway.

I am going to buy my hair coloring there. I had $2. off coupons that were expiring at the end of the month and I was waiting for it to come on sale before using the coupons but now with 50% off of the regular price, it is an even better deal.

My daughter price matched Becel to Sobey's at $4.99 then used the 50% off coupon to get it for $2.50.

Also, been hearing a lot of people using it for milk, which never comes on sale.

What's with all the Zellers hate?

Go search through threads on US sites about Target and coupons. Yes Target, your saviour from the hell that is Zellers. You will find numerous complaints about Target not honouring coupons and changing the terms of coupons after issuing them.

Anyone with an ounce of common-sense will realize that this coupon is a crazy deal of a coupon. Zellers made a mistake and this is their way of correcting it. They honoured this deal for at least 3 days, which is more than can be said of other retailers in Canada, regarding advertised discounting errors.

As for how they fixed it, if this was Target or Walmart or any other retailer, they would've probably removed and invalidated the coupons right away and outright. At least Zellers had honoured the full terms of the coupon and is now changing it to still allow regular price items instead of nothing.

all things I was debating on getting but decided to go for a sale item as it seemed like a better deal
