I just got off the phone with zellers and I was told they are no longer accepting this coupon AT ALL!!!! With all the confusion and trouble this coupon has now been retracted as of Dec. 29th @ 5:00 PM!!!!!!

I used it tonight at 7:30, no problems.

My coupon was refused at two zellers' tonight. It sucks because I was going to go to Zellers yesterday (when the coupon would have been accepted on sale items) and decided to hang out with my parents instead. Lol, big mistake!

lol! Great idea! What a mess-up this is for Zellers. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know how many of these coupons would be used. I was refused my coupon today, no surprise, thats why I almost never shop there. T-shirt.. here I come!!!

i have a feeling zellers didn't think this through.. they didn't think about what people would really BUY with the coupon (things like kitchen aid mixers), they could have added more limitations to the coupon when writing it (they did limit no electronics fearing that TV's and cameras would go flying off the shelf) say a 50% off UP TO a set amount(heck entertainment book coupons have that wording!)...

i could understand if they put the coupon out right before they started liquidating the store... BUT at this point everything what they sold with the coupon they have to take a loss on and restock for at least a few more months before they can start having bare shelves

I agree. Zellers did not think this through. I hope they read the Smart Canucks posts to see how we feel.

I'm angry that this is a company found across Canada and they pay marketing experts big bucks for these types of promos.

Didn't they do their research?
Didn't they think about what might be popular purchases?

They are acting like they are a really small store that got blindsided by the public.

Bad business move on Zellers part... They only had two more days. I wasn't planning on using this coupon but I can feel the frustration a lot of customers are probably feeling right now. They probably had an increase in customers during this promotion and now may have even less than what they had started with. Unfortunate really.. I support buying Canadian but I can't stand Zellers because I've been disappointed like this so many times when I have shopped there.
