Invasion of privacy?

When your child is a teenager, do you think it's allright to sneak through their stuff, or do you consider it an invasion of privacy?

Well I think that I'd go thru things IF I felt something was wrong. I think it's our jobs as parents to help our children thru things that they can't seem to work thru. If I suspected drugs or other I'd not think twice about searching thru thier room.
But if I didn't suspect anything I would just let them be.

I would like to think I would respect their privacy, but if a situation arose that I needed to know something, I'm really hoping that we have a relationship where we can talk to each other. I grew up hiding alot of stuff and I would have freaked if my parents were ever caught, or admitted to snooping... I really don't see myself doing that for that reason, BUT we will see what the future holds

my mom goes through my stuff all the time and when she doesnt find anything then she asks me where i hide things. Also she used to throw out someof my things when i was at school. I think that it is a huge invasion of privacy she wouldnt like us going through her stuff so she shouldnt go through ours cause we dont like it

No... I wouldn't do that. Like I said before. Only if they won't talk and I have REASON to believe something is wrong.
I hope I have a good enough relationship with them that they are able to tell me things so I can help them out. :?

i think she just goes through my stuff to see if she is right cause she always has to be right

I think only under dire circumstances would I go through my kids stuff. I too hope that we have an open relationship where they will tell me what I need to know.
