YAY keep up the awesome work.
day 4 and stil going strong...though I been eating like a pig..lol..loosing weight is next on my list lol.
okay some good news...I have inspired my son to quit..he is using the patches and gum I receive from Living Well and has not had a smoke in 2 days...Im so proud.
still have not smoked:)..NOPE(not one puff ever)
1 week smoke-free...I don't know how I did it:shrug:. I had cravings but never gave in to them...and I was only a little cranky,:rolleyes:but the thought of smoking is always on my mind...I hope that goes away...I even think about it when Im busy doing other things..
i don't know Wanda. not sure about the cravings. hubby still has them 7 years later. he handles them well. but still gets them. however he says the other benefits def. outway the cravings. so he's happy with that.
im sure if you take it one day at a time. even one deep breathe at a time it will get easier. reward yourself for the little accomplishments. be proud of yourself!!!!
so I stopped smoking for a week...then smoked 2 days..and now have not smoked for 3 days...this is hard..especially when everyone I know smokes...and my son is smoking again...but Im going to try try try try until I succeed
Keep going. You are making great progress and I'm sure you body thanks you (as does your wallet). I'm sure you will inspire the remainder of your family. My husband's family all quit, but one at a time over a period of years. DH's brother was the last and it was very hard, but he's smoke free 2 years now. Keep going. I'm cheering for you.
So how is it going so far? Hang in there, in a year you will be so proud and can run up the stairs without even huffing and puffing!!! :)
Keep trying. It IS hard, but victory will be yours! :)
Consider buying Allen Carr's "Easy Way" book. I admit that when someone told me to read a book to quit smoking, I was cynical and thought, "how can a stupid book help me quit?" But honestly, when I read the book and put it together with my desire to be a non smoker again, it worked! Reminding myself of what the book said totally got me through the tough times (aka the nic fits)
this has been hard and I am now on my third attempt...I am on my 3rd day without a cigarette...I am eating like a pig..Im already heavy and don't need the extra weight...I tried some Pilates..but doing it on a hard floor with my back problems was causing me lots of pain.
I am going to order an exercise mat from amazon..
one day at a time WJ.. eventually it will get easier. maybe once the weather improves you can get out more and go for a walk. keep it up.
YAY! 3rd day! You can do it! :-):-):-)
Don't worry about gaining extra weight right now. You need to focus all your energy on fighting the nicotine monster first. You can fight the other battles later. Resolve yourself now to gaining a few extra pounds and being ok with it.
Even if you are eating more than you should right now, it's ok--because you're NOT smoking! In the long term, I'm sure any doctor would tell you that you'd be better off carrying extra weight on your body and being a non smoker than you would be if you were a skinny smoker.
Don't give up! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it!
We're all rooting for you! :top:
