Rexall on Stafford clearance items free with coupons!

I was at Rexall's today on my way home from work and they had the following items on clearance:

Proglide Razor $2.97 (they had only 4 of these)
Proseries items numerous most were $2.97
Vapo Rub $2.00 (coupon for $2.00) free
Febreeze products (christmas themes .97) with $1.00 coupon free
Toothbrushes (Colgate sensitive) $1.97 - less $1.50 coupon (if you have one) = $0.47 plus taxes - they had lots of these as well

I didn't buy any of the items as I don't need them. I've heard they don't want to give you items for free, so have them put it through for $.02 (they want you to pay the tax on the items)...

I got a raincheck for the toilet paper for $4.99 for Cottonnelle as I have $2.00 coupon I want to use for it and they are out of stock (flyer sale).

wow! but wait - even if they deduct the full amount of the coupon (or adjust it, whatever) we still pay tax on the items before the coupons, thats what ive noticed on all my bills, whether it be walmart or wherever. is this not right? so for them to charge .02cents..really??

yes you pay the tax on everything except food

I saw a sign at this location a few months ago saying they won't accept coupons with clearence items hopefully it changed

Thanks for the tip.... but they're gone!
I work just a 20second walk away, so i went over just now when i saw this post... I didnt see a clearance stand at all. there was a cart with some chocolate bars for 99cents. I asked a lady if there were any more seasonal Febreezes and she said no. she looked around too, to make sure, but there werent any. i went up and down every single aisle. No Febreeze seasonals, no Vicks on rollback (full price ones, yes.) I didnt look too hard for the razors, but i didnt see any anyways. Guess someone saw this in time and got a great deal!

They were right in the middle by the chocolate on clearance racks. Yes someone got a great deal. I think I was there at 6:30 on my way home from work..
